It will. There will be postponements and all that annoying stuff but at the end of the day there will be a Stanley cup winner. By the time playoffs roll around, things should be improving.

All COVID, or actually injuries?

It will 100% finish.

The biggest hurtle was getting the owners to accept a loss on this season for the sake of continuity. They did. Once they signed off on that concept, the season was assured a finish.

Also, it’s worth noting that positivity percentage, overall daily cases, and hospitalizations, have been on a downward trend. Couple that with over 10% of the population in the US being vaccinated (and rising), things should be getting better. If they made it this far, they’ll finish up.

The COVID ones are the annoying ones in my opinion. Too bad they got injured. Hopefully they will be back soon, so you can have a defence in front of those goalies.

The season will finish within a week of the initial schedule. The Playoffs will happen. A team will win the Cup. All the games might not be played, and they'll use the points % for the standings.

I think the lack of training camp, long downtime, and limited offseason work is showing up with all the injuries.

I do like these 2 game sets they are playing now. I really like the the back-to-back game nights are being played on even rest. Not one team plays in one city, then hops a plane, and plays somewhere else the next night; against a team that has had a day or two off.

Too much $ not to have a season.

Even if teams lose money, they want out that TV contract instead of pushing it back a year.
You know they got that already worked out. Even if they haven't said it. It's not like they been waiting to figure that move out. When it comes to getting paid that's the priority.

Our idea of a season is not the same as their idea of a season.
Only thing they really want is enough games to fill that TV contract. After they done with that.....who cares. Playoffs.
