It's just unnecessary. They don't need forwards, they need to let the team they have gel more and get into mid season form. As Keefe and others have already said, the team hasn't scratched the surface on what they can be. It'll come and when it does this team is nuts. No need to make bold moves because that is what fans do on Chel

I am the hugest Hertl fan, just want to say that before this.

This is pretty fair. I don't think the leafs need him, so maybe a team more needy for a skilled top six power forward would be better than the leafs. I think because of two years of retention, possibly add a low end prospect or another 3rd or 4th, pending the team

I think we can get a better package for Hertl. He is a capable 1C and an elite 2C whose making only 5.6 mil for 2 years. My hope would be a 1st and an 'A' prospect for him, maybe more.

You can do better than that for Hertl, imo.

My thing is your getting good value. Along with the picks. Kerfoot and Engvall are good players. Kerfoot has 2C potential. Engvall middle 6 potential. At the least you could flip them for good value. To me. Doug Wilson has never been “picks and futures” guy. You will never hear the word rebuild. And I just don’t see a situation where you can get a first and a blue chip prospect.

Maybe Montreal? Put with some much uncertainty I don’t know if they would want to part with a first and a top prospect

They would not do that, they already have one of the best top 9s in the league. Ngl Florida is the first name that comes to mind who could really use him but another smaller market for him would be saddening
