Edmonton should absolutely pull the trigger on this. Toronto shouldn't.

Chiasson with some form of retention for Engvall, a late pick, and Hutchinson might make sense for the Leafs if they really wanted Chiasson, but I don't think there's any actual interest.

Being insane doesn't help. Chaisson is barely an Oiler and he wouldn't make TO. Engvall can kill penalties and is cheaper and younger. It's a waste of assets for a guy that isn't needed at all.

Chiasson is on powerplay 1. e literally just has to stand in front of the net and take cross checks to open up the ice.

Not in TO he isn't, he's nothing.

Edmonton has cap issues and he makes 2.15 million. They gave him that contract after he scored 22 goals. They could replace him with somebody making 1 million yes. His job is to stand there and take cross checks from the goalie then keep the defence from grabbing the puck so nudgent Hopkins and mcdavid can get the rebounds.

So like both Simmonds and Hyman do, one of which is cheaper and the other much, much better. This is a dumb trade.

All you need for Chaisson is a bag of pucks. Significant overpay.
