Would much rather keep Mitts if that’s the return. He might not be a superstar, but the chance that the fourth becomes even an NHLer is incredibly low

Mitts for a 4th makes absolutely zero sense
Better to keep him in hopes he’s a late bloomer than to ship him off for a mid round pick

Mitts + for Kuemper is my dream scenario

With Byfield, Turcotte and Vilardi lined up at C, I don't see us investing even a fourth for Mittelstadt, but his hometown team is always looking for right-handed forwards and especially centers.

...Mittelstadt is a LH shot. And I would wager almost all GMs would give a 4th for him. Huge upside still, even if playing the wing

Thanks for the correction. I guess my misconception comes from seeing a lot of ACGMs last summer putting him at RW with Dylan Cozens. Yes, most teams with an opening at C would give more for him than a fourth.

I expect very little from him. He hasnt put up any meaningful offensive numbers since high school, and with his work ethic and committment to defense being questions, where does that leave us? I thought he was supposed to be a very good skater, but that hasnt been the case. So "hes got good hands" is what we have to build on. Yuck. I still cant bring myself to sell this low, fourth round picks are long shots from teams that know how to draft, they are incredibly long shots with the sabres. Plus he might get taken by seattle, which might allow us to keep somebody else.

We will keep Mitts and give him one more shot. A 4th does nothing for us. I'd be okay to swap him for a LHD prospect who is NHL ready. A Jake Bean or the like
