So Bertuzzi faced top line competition and Kerfoot was protected behind two of the best centers in the world and somehow he's better? Yeah..no.

Yeah, its almost like playing 5 mins more a game with top power play time with your best scorers pad your stats over the guy getting burried with defensive starts

Yeah it's almost like playing against vastly inferior competition should have produced way more points for such a "talented" player playing protected minutes.

I love how you just ignored the ice time and power play time like the only difference is the line mates and competition.
Oh, i should also add in that Bertuzzi starts SIGNIFICANTLY more often in the offensive zone (60% of the time in fact!) than Kerfoot does, it's almost like he's being pumped up for points beyond his capabilities.

lol, sure thing bud, just because you dont understand how three things one way dont equal one thing another way doesnt mean you just get to play smug and pretend you won.
Oh and just for funsies, here's a nice chart for ya

Gotta disagree with that one. Kadri was never given a chance to be a number 1C here. He always had either Bozak or Grabovski playing ahead of him. I hate the narrative of "well he got suspended twice in the playoffs" but in the same breath say well "the Leafs need toughness". I f--kin wish Kadri was a Leaf forever. He's exactly the time of guy you need on a roster. He was just coming into he's own before they signed JT.
2016 32G 29A
2017 32G 23A
2018 16G 28A (JT signs)
The Leafs would be in a much better situation if Matthews was 1C and Kadri at 2C.

he didn't really give us much toughness while he was suspended though, did he

Yes dude Kadri and Kerfoot are the exact same player. Statements like this are the reason it's been 53 years...

lol obv kadri's better but he'd be a 3C on this team and he simply didn't succeed in that role

as a 2C he's fantastic (unless he gets suspended lol), but he's not gonna be a 2C on our team. we traded him somewhere and got a younger, cheaper, better defensive player who's more suited to a 3C role

Classic CapFriendly, sending a list of stats with no context and using it to justify your statement, not once actually explaining what the hell is the significance...

lol no context?

kerfoot and kadri both produced effectively the same point totals at 3C. kerfoot had more blocks, less giveaways etc.

kadri only scored 30 goals when he played 2C minutes with marner. Otherwise he's a run of the mill 15-20 goal 40-50 point grinder centreman

we lost a bunch of 'intangibles' when we traded him, yeah, but he also never won us a round, he actually cost us 1, arguably two with his stupid penalties and suspensions

kadri was straight up NOT suited for a 3C role, he struggled bigtime

2a0bd9e014a1f941967ee7bd3df68164.png

with that extra million we saved were able to afford one of bogosian, vesey, thornton, jake muzzin's raise etc.

I'd rather have kerfoot and one of those guys than just kadri at 3C

with JT, he became expensive and obsolete so we traded him for a 60 point dman and a better 2way centre who was cheaper/younger. it was supposed to be brodie/janikowski, but instead we got kerfoot/barrie, let barrie walk and signed brodie anyway. Since kerfoot > janikowski, I'd say it worked out rather well imo

Bertuzzi started 51.6 percent of his face offs in the offensive zone so I don't where you got those numbers but they're not accurate. I wouldn't give you a bag of wet rocks for him. Don't bother responding as i don't care any more and am well aware of your tactic on here of just refusing to end an argument until people just get fricking tired of talking to you. I've seen you do it a bunch of times. You don't win, you didn't convince me of anything other than your obstinance and stupidity. No one and I mean NO ONE is giving you first line players for your crappy third line center.

lol, no, he started 60% of the time in the offensive zone, he started 51% of his 5v5 zone starts in the offensive zone. That means he was given so much power play time in the offensive zone that his numbers are so lopsided because of it.

you enjoy having an ok 2nd liner on your first line and the leafs will enjoy having an ok 2nd liner on their 3rd line. If you want to keep your head in the sand because you dont want to admit your boy isnt as good as you think he is fine with me.

ONLY 30 goals...
He had been top 5 in leafs scoring for 7 years in a row when he went to Colorado, one year being the leading scorer.
How can you disrespect him and call Kerfoot better? He didn't "struggle," even in a top 6 role.

being top 5 in the 2009-2015 leafs was not exactly an amazing feat of excellence

also, kerfoot's effectively the same player offensively in a 3C role, and better defensively. If we're picking who to be a 2C, that's entirely different. Kadri all day long, but at 3C, Kadri was pretty meh

kadri is tougher, he's grittier, more skilled etc., but that's wasted in a 3C role., we saved money, got a better fit 3C and saved some cap that was spent on other areas of the roster

Bertuzzi was playing on the top line with the wings best players while kerfoot was on the third line with engvall and what ever else the wheel of spinning linemates gave him

Except last season when Mantha was hurt Bertuzzi and Larkin didn't play together. We saw a lot of Bertuzzi, Perlini with Filppula or Neilson at center. So it's not like Bertuzzi was playing 1st or even 2nd line talent and he still managed to match the production of the previous season. Playing on a 3rd line in Toronto with their 1st and 2nd lines you aren't seeing any of the other teams good defensive players. That's a luxury that Bertuzzi didn't have and an advantage Kerfoot should've been able to exploit.

Oh wow so for 1/4 of the season he had to play with larkin and someone who scored more than any 3rd liner kerfoot played with while still getting all the power play time and playing 5 mins more a game.
Someone was exploiting something, that's for sure

If you got Bertuzzi he'd be your first line left wing. What is sad is that you just can't stop yourself. You have a problem admitting you're wrong. I've watched you do this over and over again. Getting the last word doesn't make you right and I'm sorry your pathetic little ego won't let you see that but I'm guessing you wouldn't care even if someone explained it to you (hmm?). I try hard not to believe TML fans aren't the sad stereotype they are made out to be but you make that impossible because you epitomize it perfectly. I'm sorry the world doesn't love all your sh*tty players as much as you do. So I'll just say goodluck with all those cups you're going to win with Kerfoot.

nah, he'd be behind Hyman easy. And he'd be battling it out on the 2nd like with Mikheyev, Not Kerfoot, who can play C and is anchoring his own line btw.
My dude, you cant even admit that Bertuzzi's numbers are getting juiced even a little because he's been given every single chance to score as much as possible. I havent even said a negative word about the guy and you're super angry. All because I said he's similarly good to a guy that YOU think sucks. Maybe, just maybe im pointing out that you're wrong about Kerfoot.
But no, you just gotta get all puffy and stick your chest out because of some assumed slight. You go on and on about me not admitting im wrong and assuming ego nonsense just because you cant fathom a single fact outside of your own little world.
And there you go with stereotypes, my god, a friggen Wings fan talking about fan stereotypes. You want me to go on about how you didnt even like hockey until the wings won a cup or some crap? get over yourself, you have an ok 2nd liner and the Leafs also have an ok 2nd liner.
Good luck being the worst team in the cap era again with your "1st liner"

I love it, you're so entrenched in this that you have no idea what you've been arguing all along. I'd tell you to go back and actually read what I was saying again but you clearly didnt bother to read the first time so I doubt you'd start now. But hey, you sure gave absolutely no facts to support your argument this entire time! good job, you proved nothing. And what was that line you used before totally incorrectly? Ah yes, the facts dont care about your feelings. Or was that the other guy who couldnt get over that Kerfoot dare be as good as Bertuzzi. Whatever, all you typical wings fans blend together.
