Pens are fine with desmith and no way NJD trades Blackwood

Devils aren't trading Blackwood and if they did be your starter, NOT your backup!!!

This sequence of trades is not good for Pittsburgh and New Jersey isn't trading Blackwood.

Blackwood is a lot better than Jarry!! He's putting up good numbers on a bad team.

All these trades are bad for the organization and team. DeSmith is NO WAY a cap dump so why trade him for nothing to SJS. He is a solid backup and cheap.

So it would cost a 2nd to move DeSmith WITH retention?

No you pay a 4th rounder and get a 2nd in return while the pens retain on DeSmith also. It’s a terrible trade for the pens. And DeSmith only played in the AHL because Murray and Jarry were ahead of him.

Yikes, if we could off Dubnyk or Jones I would jump on this trade in a heartbeat!!! But that being said we are tied to these two Goalies and in my honest opinion that trade is dumb there should be no retention and he is worth a 4th without the 2nd involved.

other than the fact that NJ wouldn't trade Blackwood, the Pen's are not paying that much to get a back up when then can get a decent on from free agency or waivers.
The Desmith trade is from someone who only watched this past year. Desmith was challenging for the starting job before Jarry stepped up. He's more than an capable back up.
