Leafs fans your thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PleaseBanMeForMyOwnGood</b></div><div>Holl has looked good every time he's played for the past 3 seasons, Babs never gave him a chance. Finally he got a chance and earned top 4 minutes and was successful. Could he flop? Maybe, but he could be as good as last year along Muzzin and it's doubtful the Leafs will have as many injuries as last year. So in all likelihood, Holl will once again do great with Muzzin. And that is definitely great. Brodie will hopefully help Rielly once again join the Norris conversation and then the bottom pair will be interesting. Either way TO is going to be much better than last season.</div></div>
3 seasons?? 80 games??
He never got a chance?? or never earned a chance or won a roster spot. There’s a difference.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PleaseBanMeForMyOwnGood</b></div><div>That is just a thoughtless response. Holl was effective and saying he was so is just stating a fact. No one is calling him a saviour. Just stating the reality that he was very good alongside Muzzin. And for 2 million that is terrific value. Calling him Ceci is just stupid. Ceci was asked to play next to Rielly and drove his season into the ground.</div></div>
A thoughtless response to his thoughtless response.
Yes, he played well last year with Muzzin. We’ll see if he plays similar or improves. I doubt it. You want to bet your season on Holl being a capable top 4 defender. I wouldn’t. And again, Lethonen, Sandin and Liljregren have not proven to be NHL capable yet either.

Wishful thinking
Danault is on an expiring contract. And Poehling is a “B+” prospect at best. And Paul has little to no value in a trade. More value to just keep him in Montreal.

Good luck with Holl as a top 4 D. He’ll be this years Ceci’s or Zaitsev for the Leafs. They will blame him for being 28th in goals allowed again. Just like last year was all Ceci’s fault..lol. Holl will regress and every leafs fan will try to be dump at the deadline on ACGM.

McCann to WPG
McCann is better than Roslovic right now and more potential. They are basically the same age.
McCann has had back to back 35 point seasons and played in the NHL since he was 19 years old.
Won a roster spot at 19 years old and never looked back. Had 19 goals and 35 points in 18-19 when he playing wing, where he belongs. 14 goals and 35 points last year when he was playing out of position and Center. McCann a better two-way player too.
We don’t need Copp. I would rather A.Lowry. We have O’Connor, Lafferty, Angello, Zohorna, who all could play as well as Coop if given the ice time and minutes.
ZAR has off-season shoulder surgery and be out till mid February.

Penguins 25 and Under Roster
Maniscalco is a RHD and a right-handed shot. He’d Be the 2nd Pairing RHD. With PO-Joseph/Maniscalco. Peterson/Marino pairing should stay the same. The 3rd pairing D, would be Cam Lee/W.Reilly.
I would have Judd Caulfield as the 4th line RW instead of Zohorna. I would have the 4th line be Zohorna/Angello/Caulfield. I would have O’Connor as the 3rd line LW. And the 3rd line be O’Connor/Bellerive/Puustinen. And the 2nd line be McCann/Bjorkqvist/legare(just move McCann to wing, where he belongs, and Bjorkqvist to Center).

Lol. Why wouldn’t the Pens use a 23 man roster.?? Lol. Seeing as they have the cap space??
Pettersson/Marino was our 2nd pairing D last year. They will stick the same this year. Matheson/ Ceci, Ruhwedel platoon will be the 3rd pairing; playing 10-15 minutes a night.
McCann/Janko/E-Rod is our 3rd line right now as our roster is right now..have u read anything Penguins?? McCann is a scorer, a wing. 19 goals in 18-19, 14 goals last year(playing Center and out of position). JR and Sully said they found that out last year and will keep him as a wing this year and let him do what he does best and just snipe. And not have to worry about play-making for his line-mates and carrying a line.
Janko will get every shot and opportunity to be the 3C same with E-Rod as the 3RW.
Tanev/Blueger/ZAR stayed as the 4th line all last year while the team was riddled with injuries and it was never changed. He’s not gonna change it this year. It was the best defensive line in the NHL. All 3, Tanev, Blueger and ZAR has Selke votes.
ZAR has offseason surgery surgery and will start off on LTIR.
It will be Tanev/Blueger/Lafferty to start the season. We need Lafferty’s right-handed shot and right-handed stick to take face-offs. We have no other right-handed Face-Off takers. And Lafferty is good at FO’s too.

Leafs fans your thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ryminister_27</b></div><div>Okay Mr GM Genius.. and where does Savard play? Leafs defence is already set.
Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Holl
Sandin - Dermott/Bogosian
Lehtonen - Liljegren
Marincin
That's 10 NHL capable d-man. Savard would fight with Bogosian for ice time. & at the cost of getting Bogosian for nothing or having to give up Dermott, plus a top prospect and a pick for less than 1 year of a guy that MIGHT play bottom pairing minutes? .. yeah if Dubas doesn't get Savard surely they'll never be a cup. They're way better off without him.
And how is Dermott gone in the expansion draft exactly? Smart move is to protect 8-1. Matthews, Tavares, Marner, Nylander, Rielly, Brodie, Muzzin, Dermott, and Campbell.. worst case possible Toronto loses Holl (can be replaced by Liljegren + gain $2M in cap space) or Kerfoot (can be replaced by Robertson + gain $3.5M in cap space)
So please, tell me again how this idea benefits the Leafs. If Dubas listened to people like you he'd be outta a job faster than he can blink.
Give your head a shake already.</div></div>
Neither Liljegreen or Sandin or Lehtonen have proved NHL capable yet. Good luck man!! Keep all your draft picks and “C”, “C+ prospects and keep getting knocked out in the 1st round of the play-offs!! Anyone will tell u, u can never have enough D. See Leafs being 28th in goals allowed last year!!

And if their GM continues doing what these fans think. It’s why the leafs will never win a SC again. The chances of Abramov or Abruzzese being as good as Savard are probably under 10%. And Even Dermott.
Dermott will be gone next year from the expansion draft most likely. With nothing in return. And Abramov and Abruzzese chances of ended up like Bracco are higher than them playing significant minutes and years for the Leafs.
If you can get Savard for 2.5M for this year for Abruzzese and Dermott. Yes, absolutely!!

PLD Three Way
Why would the Pens trade Guentzel, who makes 6M per for the next 4 years, for a RFA who is gonna want a fortune next year?? Plus add drafts picks?? Lol.
Guentzel for Laine is a lateral move(if the contracts were the same, which they arnt).
Guentzel had 76 points in his 3rd year in 18-19 and on pace for 80 plus last year b4 he got tripped from behind and fell into the boards and need shoulder surgery last year.
Laine = Guentzel. Guentzel = good contract. Laine = RFA, contract is gonna be a tooth an nail fight!!
With a extension and Laine getting 6-7M per the next 5 years. Then ya, fair trade. Not as a RFA though.

Lol. Ok man. A top 10 D-man in the league still. A top 3 D-man on the PP point still.. 2 top 100 prospects and a 1st and 2nd round pick. For a RFA that is gonna want a fortune this off-season.
I guess Laine brings back a Gretzey or Lindros package..?? lol.
He brings back a NHL level player, a top 100 prospect and a 1st round pick. That’s his value bud. He won’t bring back more than that. Maybe a prospect package of a team’s 2 of their top 1-5 prospects, a NHL player(probably a bad contract back too) and a 1st round pick.

I doubt it. He’s not a enough of a checker, two-way player to be a 3rd line wing. Even to start his career. He’ll play AHL until completely ready to be a top 6. Or bust out. Again, he has no NHL “floor”.
Not saying he won’t contribute as a top 6 on a NHL team. That’s just the type of player he is. A fast, fancy stick-handling, scoring wing. That’s all well and good too. It’s not a knock. He’s has NHL potential. But he can’t play as an NHL bottom 6. And like u said, that’s not why u draft him either. I just wrote that b/c u have him on your 3rd line here. Still scores .75 points a game as a D-man. On a good contract; Letang, Sid, and Geno all took a home town discount and alittle less to help sign more players. He’s worth 8M per plus. And only 2 more years term left on his contract. You get a big amount of salary cap relief in 2 years along with the 4 prospects. Ya, it’s really good value. If the jets get more than this without an extension, I’d be super surprised.

Amirov is a top 6 or bust. That’s why I hated that pick. If he doesn’t play a top 6 role, he doesn’t play in the NHL. Just like Bracco. It’s why I hate that pick at 15. He has no “floor” as a prospect. Just a high ceiling. And I doubt he’s ready for the NHL until he is atleast 22-23 years old. He still has a ways to go.
Hallander isn’t a Center. He’s a LW. Will play LW in the NHL. He hasn’t played Center in years. He plays LW now and will in the NHL. Anything you see or read says he’s a LW and will play LW and will continue to play LW.

Staal inst a good enough scorer or play-maker for a 2C. Great 3C though. Although 6M per is a lot for a 3C.
