I have no idea why Montreal is getting so much love. All they did is add a depth LD and 2 middle 6 wingers, one of which is coming off a season where he scored a single goal. Arguably their two most important players are both old and the decline is going to come. Last year they were so far out of it and basically have the same team with 2 extra wingers and everyone on here seems to think they will be world beaters. They are more likely to miss the playoffs than finish 2nd. TO was 3rd in the division in a season where pretty much everything went wrong.
I think they're 8th... Detroit actually has some interesting pieces - if Mantha and Larkin are on for the full season, along with maybe Bertuzzi they'll be interesting. They are also better in goal while Ottawa paid a pretty bad guy a lot of money.

Florida is going to be pretty bad with their Connolly-Wennberg-Hornqvist 2nd line but go off. Detroit will win a bit more than last year but not much. I’m expecting a nice bounce back season from Murray and Brannstrom playing pretty well. And Ottawa has tons of depth because the amount of rookies coming in too

I think very highly of Brännström, and I don't think there's any super long distance except between the top and bottom 4 teams, but I just think Detroit was never as bad as last season had them. Just like when Colorado got like 46 points or whatever - they were never really that bad to begin with; obviously still way better than this Detroit team. Sometimes we get a little too focused on the results.
Ottawa will most likely not be last. Bit of a crap shoot after that. Hell could be a wild card team if they get lucky.
If leafs stay healthy I would sayb1st or 2nd in the Atlantic. Won’t be starting with Babcock and the roster changes as well as young players getting better.
I’m excited for the leafs every year but this may be one of the better teams they have put together in my life time.

Yeah I can see Toronto get first tbh. Boston and Tampa both lost or will lose a good player
Just curious, what is your analysis on why the Sharks got better but the Oilers substantially worse this season?
Honestly the Klefbom injury and the fact that I don’t know how they’ll stop letting a lot of goals in. But I think 3-5 is in the same tier. So feel free to change freely those 3 teams.
Yeah the Metro could be a 7-way tie for 1st lmao. My hot take would be Boston missing the playoffs this year. Marchand and Pasta missing the beginning of the year, then maybe taking time to get back up to speed, plus they’re all getting older and haven’t replaced Krug and probably won’t. I’d say Tampa, Leafs, Habs
