Description
Just a quick 5-minute peak into what the roster could look like in 21-22. Very rough estimate here. Obviously this is without trades and other prospects making the jump, which there will be. I have no idea what kind of contracts to give the '21 RFA's so don't look at those too much. With the addition of Raymond I think that clearly defines even more our need for center, because I still don't necessarily see a cup winning team with a Larkin/Veleno 1-2 punch down the middle. However, if Raymond develops into the type of player I think he can, that definitely elevates a guy like Veleno. Hopefully Veleno can have a good SHL season and really start to find his offense at the pro level. I resigned Nemeth to a 1-year extension, but I guess a guy like McIssac could slide into that role if he's ready. Maybe even Johansson has he's off to a strong start over there now. But realistically both of those guys will probably spend some time in GR before Detroit, and that would make our blue line super young. I also don't really have a good answer for the goalie situation. Will Larsson have a bounce back year this year and get back on track? I have no idea. The future is goal for us is very murky right now. But yea don't take this team or the contracts too seriously, it's basically impossible to predict the lineup this far out. Let me know your thoughts and if any other prospects like Berggren or Tuomisto should be in the conversation.

If the wings can somehow pry Shane Pinto away from Ottawa, I think he fits perfectly here as the 2c.

This team is probably last again next year. Hopefully they can get Aatu Raty to help Larkin at center. Although he probably won’t be available at 4tears of joy

I wouldn't be surprised if Gunler plays here if you pick him tomorrow

Is Gunler that good? I'm not super high on him. At 32 it would be hard to argue value, but I think there's better players available right now.

Raymond was definitely the right choice. For 32 having an option of JJP and Gunler

Yeah if they can get a top C or LD prospect at the top of next years draft they should be set. Other than in goal, which they should be able to get a future starter in the 2nd or 3rd round this year

This. We are going to get really familiar with Edvinsson this year as he will probably make his debut with Frolunda at some point. Power, Lambos, and the last Hughes are all there as well on that left side. We'll see lots of Johnson as he's right down 94, and Raty will probably be in our range as well. The top of next years draft fits perfectly with our positional needs. Raymond was the perfect pick this year. I'm excited.

I would take him at 55. Don't think I'd be super comfortable taking him any earlier, especially not at 32 with the guys we have available.
