In order for Tampa to be compensated a 1st, 2nd and 3rd via offer sheet, the AAV of the contract has to be from $6,544,641 to $8,726,188. Which means in order for Tampa to get those picks from us, we're giving him at least about $6.6M.

No, you can give him less depending on the number of years you gave him

I would not be interested in giving Cirelli anything near 6, and would not be interested in giving him anything long term unless it's 4M or less.

I'd like to see MN trade for Cirelli with this year's 1st as part of the deal, the sign him to a $4.5mx2 bridge deal. For an OS this is about the range I see him signing.

Sergachev at 3 x 5 is an awful deal for him. Not knowing the speculation on what he's looking for, I'd say he'd want something more like 8 x 7.

NJD won't take Tyler Johnson. He is declining, has four years of $5 million.

TB should add Cal Foote. So two feet can walk together.

    (I'll see myself out).

Remember when Tyler Johnson had 72 points in 77 games at age 24 on a stacked Lightning team, and then never came close to replicating it again?

    McAvoy 3 years 4.9M
    Werenski 3 years 5M
Good comparable and you clearly don’t understand what a bridge deal is

Both those guys weren't coming off seasons where they were the no. 2/3D on a cup winning team - Sergachev is much more proven then they were at this stage of his career. With the market looking the way it is, I'd be looking for the best and longest financial security possible. Even if he were to take a bridge deal, it'd a lot more similar to Laine's in the 6+ range.

Avs say no. O'Connor at league minimum for the next two years is invaluable. We can't afford to trade cheap bottom 6 depth players away if we want to have a competitive bottom 6 from 2021 onwards. Consider how Tampa paid a 1st for Goodrow just because of his contract; and then compare it to O'Connor at league minimum who looked very good in the playoffs.

Would rather trade another pick instead.

I never understand these trades of Johnson "to anywhere". The only teams that have cap are lousy teams. Is there any reason for Johnson to fall on the Tampa cap sword and leave Tampa?
I can't see these players waiving, just so guys can make fantasy rosters. And really is Johnson even worth 5m X 4? Better ways for teams to spend 5m

I agree. Is he a good center... yes, is he #1C? We don't know and for that you don't give him $6m+... You could offersheet him at $5.5m and TB will struggle to match it and that only costs you a 1st & a 3rd. Will will pass on Cirelli
