Not sure why calgary would do this. It seems directionless. Its a worse older team, with a worse cap situation then the year before. I would rather just have two years of gaudreau and keep hanifin.

To make that trade worth it for calgary it would have to add myers or a first and take back lucic instead of ryan.

I would rather have hanifin then montour. Hanifin is younger with a higher ceiling and cost controlled for awhile.
