Tanev to the penguins just does not make sense. They want to have an internal cap of 70mill. Plus 5mill for a third pairing dman is a yikes. Unless they move Letang I cant see it happening as it means no money for Marino or hes gone with seattle.

There is no possible way of having an internal cap of less than 78-80 million unless they trade Crosby or malkin, which won’t happen. I mean it’s common freaking sense at this point. They are at 76 million in cap and still have 4-5 players to sign. Including a starting goalie, a 3rd pair RHD, and 2-3 forwards.
If there was an internal cap they would have used their draft capital to trade guys like Jack Johnson, Patric Hornqvist, and Brandon Tanev. Not have reports of the pens trying to sign Chris Tanev to a 5 million dollar per year contract over the next 5 years.
