Trading RyJo makes Nashville drastically weaker down the middle. They also aren't and shouldn't be in the business of moving their 1st, especially if they want to retool.

For Calgary, the downgrade to RyJo but also committing to a long term expensive contract contradicts the idea of selling Gaudreau for a future like #11. Its poor asset management and essentially spinning the tires.

Why it's bad for CGY... do your team with next year edition... now you will understand!

Ok. I can see why this trade might not work, but Nashville is not/cannot retool. Their roster is full of veterans and they're totally depleted in the prospect department. RyJo and Duchene have drastically underperformed their contracts. One of them needs to go.
