Alright, I know this team isn't making the playoffs, not enough punch offensively.
But at least we follow the plan even if it hurts losing. At least the MTL media won't be able to say we missed the playoffs 4 years in a row lmao
Danault trade : Danault said he wouldn't play behind Suzuki and Kotkaniemi in the future and he would prefer play Top 6 somewhere else rather than playing a defensive role. He wants to get better offensively and remaining strong defensively. Can't blame him, just a shame he would have been the perfect guy for the next 6 years with Suzuki and Kotkaniemi.
Tatar trade : Trading a guy who likes MTL sucks I know, but even if he signs a friendly contract 4 years 6M, we are going in the wrong direction. We won't be contenders before Norlinder Romanov Caufield Ylonen Poehling Primeau are all regulars. St-Louis get a 1st line or 2nd line forward to help O'Reilly or Schenn line. I target Kyrou because he could be a good top 6, so it will be a miss or boom. I don't expect Bergevin to resign Armia, so Gallagher Caufield Kyrou Ylonen is fine for me. Allen would be a good backup for Carey and ST-Louis shred some capspace, Sanford is a decent bottom six winger
Weal vs Chiasson is 4th C / 13th forward vs 4RW / 13th forward. Weal is good at faceoffs and can play LW/C/RW while Chiasson brings seize to our 4th line. Chiasson > Weal so EDM gets a pick
Contract extension :
Domi was MTL best player in 2018-2019. He wasn't the best this year, but he still finished the season with 44 points ( 3rd best MTL scorer ). I bet he played bad because of is concern about is contract. Give him terms and money, I think he'll take it.
Mete can play on the left side, right side, no arbitration rights, won't cost a lot. If Romanov isn't ready, Mete plays, if Juulsen isn't 100$ healthy or not better than Mete at camp, Mete plays. He's still 22yo, MTL fans are a little bit hard on him. He played the playoffs on is offside with an AHLer
Evans Juulsen Vejdemo are getting 2 way contracts
Thompson is a good leader and can be flip at the TDL
Draft :
MTL draft Alexander Holtz at 8 and Mavrick Bourque at 16th
We could trade a pair of second to move in the 1st round, maybe
Prospects :
If the NCAA season is cancelled, Caufield will play with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds who have is rights in the OHL
Jayden Struble will play with l'Armada de Blainville-Boisbriand who owns is rights in the QMJHL
Jordan Harris sign is ELC and play with Laval
Norlinder play is 2 years contract with Frolunda in the SHL before coming in NA
J. Olofsson do the same thing that Norlinder, finish is contract with Skellefteå AIK
Joni Ikonen have signed a 2 years deal with Ilves in the Liiga, finish is contract before coming over in NA
Easy no from Buffalo I would think. So many great players in this draft that are too hard to pass up on
8 is still good, it drops at 9 but still getting a excellent 2C and having Eichel Danault Cozens for the future is quite good. When Cozens surpass Danault, Danault goes 3C
Buffalo won't trade a top 10 pick for Danault, he is a good two-way center but if KK and Suzuki pushed him to 3C it's a question of time before the same happens in Buffalo with Cozens...8 OA for a third line center is just bad

But it will take 3-4 years before Cozens moves him + he's still technically a 2C playing 3C.
I think Danault to WPG for #10 makes more sense, assuming Lundell is gone by then. They don't have anyone else coming to take the 2C spot unlike Cozens in Buffalo.
That's an odd prediction to make for a player that played in second Swedish league last season

Jack Han is sure Norlinder will be a star and if we have to do a redraft he's going top5 OA in 2019 and he'll do more than 0.5PPG before the age of 25 in the NHL playing over 23:00 min a night

So a guy with almost no experience in scouting who was fired after three season in leaf organisation says something and now it's a fact that Norlinder will be a star? The fact that Pronman (A.K.A one of the best prospect insider) questionned him about this declaration tells a lot. He might be a good player, but it's not because one person said that is is going to be a star that all the other experts who prejected him as a top 4 dman are wrong.

I’m not saying anything, just that is good to ear something good for once. Pronman doesn’t follow Swede’s prospect like Han do, that’s why he’s asking question.
I wouldn't trade 8OA for a guy who may max out at 15g, I know good 2 way center but the potential of a Rossi,Holtz,Perfetti or Raymond for a team with a non existent prospect pool is more tempting in my eyes. There are to many teams that need cap room where I think they can squeeze a center from on the cheap til Cozens is ready to step into the 2C roll. Sabres aren't challenging for the cup with Danault so why put the prospect pool in deeper doo doo. That is where Tim Murray started this mess in the first place.

Its true, but how does Buffalo keep Eichel happy who wants to compete now

There has to be a balance...might have to take a veteran center that has 1-2yrs left on a reasonable contract like Bonino as an example. Two years ago Montreal was scattering for centers but through the draft and a few of trades they now find Danault or Domi expendable if they so choose. I would not trade 8OA bc this is a forward stocked draft, next year is supposed to be D heavy so maybe I would part with the 2021 first bc we have some D in the system. Maybe top 5 protect it.

Agree, but I all the prospect you named wont be there at 8, that's why I was proposing Danault
