Doughtful Dallas Accepts, Considering he’s the only PURE Sniper on that team

Rangers prob accept,

And BTW. Vlasic has almost 0 value with that contract, NO way that Fetches Domi and Mete, even if he isn’t in the trade

And you gave more to Mete than Domi(who declines that contract offer) and Gurianov, yikes

Hot take: Sharks say no to the first two deals, Montreal chokes to death laughing at the third.

That first trade is probably pretty close in value...it seems to me that NHL GMs are valuing 2020 firsts really highly, though. Dallas is also a contending team, so this trade doesn't make sense for them.

Second trade is just bad value. Labanc alone is worth mroe than Georgiev.

Third trade is something an NHL GM might make if he is thinking Vlasic is like he was three seasons ago. The thing is, he might not be wrong...Vlasic has gone through long stretches, including the playoffs, of incredible play. Seems to me that it is a matter of caring and effort...in that case, I could see him bouncing back strongly in Montreal.

1. Dallas isnt trading away their young promising forward who was their only 20 goal scorer
2. The Montreal trade might be the worst trade ive seen on Cap Friendly. Domi AND Mete for vlasic's garbage contract
3. And you give more money to mete which just doesnt make sense
4. Marleau isnt re-signing in San Jose, he wants a cup

Ok maybe I stretched it a little to much with adding Mete to the MTL trade. Initially I had Domi for Vlasic and Sorensen + a third.

Gurianov will be interesting to see if Dallas can keep, looking at their cap, otherwise I think trade is a fair value.

NYR trade I get your points and could go Georgiev for Lebanc.

You don’t know anything about hockey then. He was on pace for 50 points this year while playing on the 3rd line in an off-year. He scored 70 points the previous and he is likely a 60 point winger. We can just keep him instead of handicapping our cap situation with Vlasic in addition of getting a really bad return. That Vlasic trade is one of the worse offers I’ve seen on this site. If you want Domi, you would likely have to give up Tampa’s first and a prospect.

Again, I do think Mtl COULD take on Pickles' bad contract, but mostly if SJ could retain, let's say 15-25%...

And... we don't need anymore mid-draft picks.

So: Vlasic (25% retained) + 1st for Domi + Mete or something like that... I'm not saying I like the deal, but I think it could happen...

MARLEAUS contract of 6.25 was taken on for a 1st round pick, by that math Vlasics would take around 6 first round picks to take on, add in Domi and you're looking at 7 first round pick value to take on....

Arg, come on man!
Fist off, that Marleau trade was a glitch. Someone turned on the easy trade option on the PS4 and Pittsburgh played it well. I think GMs will stay away from those deals from now on.

Then, there's the whole question of < Can Vlasic still play? >... Honestly, I dunno. Haven't watched him enough in hte last year or so. The guy was known to be one of the NHL's most underrated players, because he never put up numbers. And yet, we continued to hear that he was one of the first guys that came up in discussions on who was the better defensive d-man in the game. YES, he's 33. YES, he's got a bad contract. But IF he can still play...

So back to the trade... Vlasic with 25% retained + a First has good value, IMO. Is Domi + Mete too much? Again, it all depends on the evaluation made of Vlasic's game. Domi and Mete both had HORRIFIC playoffs. That drives their value down.

I still think that Mtl need a scoring winger more than they need a shutdown 33-year old d-man. But I'm not the one making the trades! wink

Marleau is 100% coming back to SJ. Basically said as much numerous times due to having been there so long and his family and such. Also why he was only willing to sign with one team last offseason and waited until 4 games into the season as a result. He will be back in SJ and if they're contending for a playoff spot will stay put. If not, he gets moved for a mid-round pick to a contender and comes back the next offseason again rinse and repeat.

The thing with Vlasic is his buy in. For example, in the 2018-19 playoffs, he and Burns were spectacular together because 1) Burns was focused in his own end and 2) Vlasic was locked in and playing hard. He has had a tendency the past few years to take nights off in the regular season and not truly grind it out like he used to. However, come playoff time when the games mean more and each shift counts he consistently is one of their best players.

He was never an ultra gifted skater or scorer, but he made his living with intelligence and stick play. Those traits don't just go away with age. He is vastly overpaid at $7 million a year imo, but at $2 mil of retention he probably has some value as a steady 2nd pair guy that can PK and play well in his own end.

So if what you're describing is ligit, I think Vlasic's value should be around $4.5M. Problem is, Mtl already have Chiarot, Kulak and potentialy Romanov who fit kinda the same profile. So we would not need Vlasic. Plus, Mete is a smaller, faster stick-work d-man. No offense, but good stick and potent first pass. So, again, I think the value COULD be ther on a Vlasic trade, but probably NOT to Mtl.

Or maybe, it's a larger deal that include Labanc??? Vlasic (25% retention) + Labanc + 1st for Domi + Mete + Poehling? I dunno, maybe...
