<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DFinn91</b></div><div>These responses are crazy lol. Jiricek was drafted 6th overall 1.5 years ago. He’s a 20 year old super skilled RD with size who you could put into your lineup right now. He’s #34 in The Athletic’s Under 23 Rankings. He’s got a good chance to be a legit #1.

The Sharks give up a good package, but you’ve got to give to get. If the Sharks could bring in Jiricek without having to give up any of their own 1sts, Smith, Eklund, or Mukh that would be a great move.

If the Sharks get some lottery luck, just think of a Celebrini, Smith, Eklund, Jiricek, and Mukh core.</div></div>

It's the almost 4 1st rounders of value that is the issue. A realistic deal would be Ferraro + Bordeleau + Pittsburgh 1st (top 15 protected). Can maybe add a filler piece somewhere, but the core of the trade is an NHL D-Man, 1st round pick, and middle of the road prospect with upside. Maybe that is a 4th or something like that instead, but rarely do you see non-established elites getting dealt for a package that includes that sort of ammunition.

It's adding on Musty (just came off being a 1st rounder and playing above his mid 20's draft slot in a loaded draft), and the 33rd or 34th overall pick that is the overpay. You're putting a package together that is worth more than the Sharks got for Timo Meier as an established 30+ goal scorer in this league (Muk = Musty, Ferraro &gt; Zetterlund, PIT 1st &gt; NJD 1st, SJ 2nd &gt; NJD 2nd - or equal if NJD makes the conference finals and it moves to 29-32).
