- The pick is optional -

The trade is Radulov for Goligoski+5th. It'd make sense for ARI to load on some wingers IF Hall doesn't re-sign with them.

However, if Hall re-signs with ARI, then Radulov becomes a bit meaningless piece for them, in which case Radulov will be dropped from the exchange and the trade becomes 2nd rounder for Goligoski (with 25% salary retained)+5th.

Maybe, idk though. I feel like if they trade Nylander it won't be for an offensive defenceman. It'd be a shutdown guy to play with Rielly

Those guys are just so hard to find tho. And who's willing to trade one for Bill Ny the perimeter guy?

Yeah I do actually think that if Leafs were to acquire Klingberg, he'd be paired with Muzzin.

As least for DAL putting Klingberg next to a more defensive D has worked quite well.

He's no perimeter guy. Scored most of his goals in front of the net this year

Soft tho. 3 checks all year? Not saying you have to throw hits every game. But like, as an athlete, as a man, don't you ever get mad? like once in awhile. And just want to hit someone? He's too soft for my liking. Never seen any intensity out of him ever.

no he's not the guy that hits. But he's great in terms of the leafs current style - among the best at zone entries, puck possession, etc. Can shoot, pass and score in front. He's not the guy you expect to throw hits. If he's producing like he did this year, I don't care. Round the team out with other guys that play with physical intensity imo. Matthews is a beast defensively, forechecks hard, actually hits a bit now. Hyman hits. The entire bottom 6 battles hard. Tavares battles hard. Marner tries to, get knocked off a bit too much. But Nylander brings great possession and net front skills at a fair contract price

Not too sure from NYR perspective. Thing is it’s clear as day LHD is a major problem for them, Miller should help but definitely not forced too soon into a top role. Having a very good RHD group helps the LHD deficiencies.

That' exactly my issue with him tho, is that "he fits the current style". The style needs to change. It's proven year after year that the "leafs style" simply can not win in the playoffs. It just can't. And maybe changing the personnel and personnel type helps to change the "style".

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't NYR a bit thin in their C department when it comes to prospects as well? I can't really think any C prospect in Rangers prospect pool with TOP6 potential...Zibanejad would be a bit alone there.

That being said, you have lots of RHDs, most likely all being there long-term...

I think they need a blended style. Possession game but with more bite when they need it, and I think that the issues come down to team structure, lack of veteran leadership aside from Tavares, Spezza, Clifford, and Muzzin, and lack of physicality up and down the lineup, all of which are easy fixes, that can be addressed either internally or for cheap, so that you don't necessarily have to blow up the core 4 to fix (at least for now).

Yeah that's true. Kind of disagree with Tavares being a leader. He hasn't made things better since he got the C and he's not a winner, one playoff series in his career. Honestly wish we had 11 mil in cap space rather than JT right about now.

They are thin at C in the pipeline, but not nearly enough to give up one of the best D prospects outside the NHL right now

As a Rangers fan that has season tickets to the Flint Firebirds (and obviously Dellandrea), I think Nils has significantly more value.

He had the best U20 defenseman season in SHL history points-wise beating out Hedman by 10 points.

Lundkvist had a great season no doubt but the comparison isn't exactly apt considering that Hedman was 17 when season 2008-09 begun.

Lundkvist broke the U20 scoring record for Dmen in the SHL this season, with 31 points in 45 games, where the previous record was 24 in 48. And he's not even really an offensive defenseman. To compare him to a current Ranger, he's Adam Fox with better skating ability but worse hockey IQ (which is understandable considering just how high Fox's is)

No worries man. FWIW, I know very little about Dellandrea besides the fact that he's a 1st round C prospect, while I'm sure you could tell me all about him. Comes with being a fan of a certain team

He's a good 2-way C. A bit hindered by the fact he played in Flint which was by far the worst team in OHL in both 2017-18 and 2018-19 (well ok Kingston was even worse lol), which is why he played one more year in OHL this year and they finally started playing quite well, with him being in the leading role.

I see a young Joe Pavelski in the guy. Expect his ceiling to be somewhat close to what Pavelski managed in San Jose.

I do get that. Henrik Keon is the only C with top 6 potential in the pipeline unless Kravtsov can play C? He showed he can at WJC on a torn tricep...
But Nils is a great offensive dman and a good defender as well.
