Montour can play and steps in as 1RHD on the leafs right now...could play with Reilly or Muzz...to say he'd be third pairing in Toronto is just blind loyalty...this is what teams do, they address weaknesses by dealing strengths. they get Kahun back who gets points and has decent potential too. Could see BUF still doing it still if they put Mittelstadt in the deal.

literally every single proposal of Kapanen for Montour is full of leafs fans saying they would never do it. Yet people keep trying to do it. So, again, you are not getting Montour for Kapanen because it isnt good value for the leafs and adding Kahun isnt enough with the Leafs adding as well.

The problem is that Montour isn't what the Leafs are looking for as a top-pairing guy. We need a shutdown D-Man with great defense and solid puck-moving to play with Rielly. Montour doesn't have that.

Jokiharju is their best RHD and only 20 years old. They are building around him and Dahlin on the blue line.

there is potential to the toronto trade. Kahun could fit well and is more flexible than Kapenan. Montour could work but rn fans cant decide if he is top 4 or bottom pairing. Overall this could happen in the summer.

You surely know that if Kyle Dubas was offered this, "Brandon Montour isn't good" would not be a part of the conversation. Thats not to say the trade wouldn't work for other reasons, but he can play and has value in the league

I think so, Leafs deal from strength to address a weakness...see it all thee time, and Kahun is arguably an upgrade from Johnsson too at LW. More skilled I would argue

Buffalo should not do the Vegas trade and Toronto would not do the Leafs one.
