Seems fair tbh, but I think Colorado says no just because they already have pretty solid center depth and I think Newhook has slightly more offensive upside. Cirelli just seems a bit superfluous to me, which isnt a bad thing,

Please no, I’m a hawks fan but I love everything that the Avs have done in recent years. Keep Newhook, the kid looks amazing.

I love Cirelli, but Newhook is the real deal. That deal looks bad within three years.

Colorado says no. Especially that they have MacKinnon, Kadri as their one and two centres. Newhook is also supposed to turn into a really good player.

It's probably a safer bet to upgrade to Cirelli right now but I really believe Newhook will be a very good NHL forward so it could be a loss for COL in the long run. Not to mention they would get Newhook from age 20-23 on an ELC (which will be super valuable through their cup window). Its a big upgrade for now but I think Newhook fits best with this group long term, especially with Kadri as the 2C already
