Agreed, He may take a one or two year deal to stay in Tampa and not even consider taking any offer sheet

I saw the thread title and came into the AGM to say that Winnipeg would need to make a HUGE offer to get him to want to leave Florida to go to Siberia, and this AGM didn't disappoint. Well done.

That said, can Winnipeg really afford this, given that they have Laine, Copp, and Pionk up as RFA's in 2021?

$8.5M would make a lot of guys leave a Cup contender. That’s money he will never see in TBL.

@Kakko_to_New_York is 100% right. Cirelli is that 2nd line centre the Peg has been needing since Little fell off the cliff.

As for the blueline.... everyone and their uncle said the Jets would miss the playoffs with that blueline. Yet, at the stoppage, they held a spot. So, I challenge that statement.

A decimeated blueline + no 2nd line centre = a wild card spot.

But....

A decimeated blueline with a year more experience + a 2nd line centre DOESN'T = a playoff spot?

And that's not factoring in his linemates in Winnipeg may actually be better than in Tampa. That = mo' goals.

Now that is a fair question to ask. It could be done if Chevy can move Little - but that maybe catching Lightning in a bottle (pun intended). But for one year, I would do it.

Possibly but I really want to see an OS work and TBL is the most prime candidate of a team being unable to match because of the Cap that I can remember.

Get real, Noway Cirelli signs that offer sheet. He's not leaving Tampa for Winnipeg. He's already pretty much said he's not signing one.

It's certainly the best OS opportunity since Mark Stone imo (though that was less due to capspace and more due to Eugene Melnyk's budget).

That maybe comapring apples and oranges. Trouba wanted out of Winnipeg for 3-4 years..... and that was over playing time, to money to who knows what else. He just didn't want to be there, and the Jets had options because the cap was going up.

Cirelli may want to stay in Tampa, but as it sits, he either pulls a Teemu Selanne, Brisebois pulls 3 cap dumps out of his a$$, or he goes somewhere else.

And in an age when RFAs wanna get paid (remember last year?) the latter is looking a lot more realistic at the moment.

Yeah and reportedly Chevy wanted AA+Hronek for Trouba and Holland balked and rightfully so. That's the only reason Trouba is playing in New York and he's $1 million overpaid due to the high New York taxes also.

Ya who would do that "Jonathan Drouin," and are they a title contender next season? They took a step back that year with Cirelli, Sergachev and Shatenkirk making 4.5 max if the former two hit their bonuses. They have five mill cap space depending on what Tampa can afford you never know he just might. While we're passionate about our teams it still a job for the players

Excuse me its plus 31 in Winnipeg right now, plus 8 in Siberia. Or 88 degrees F compared to 46, lets not exaggerate. Fun fact we have more sunny days in winter then anywhere in Canada or the US

Ya if Cirelli gets to wpg it’s not on a offer sheet. Prospects and picks after all other cap dumps wore out
