marchand is a top league play maker that is also an agitator, but at the same time hes a chicken sh*t and backs away or takes a cheap shots in a fight.
the tkachuks and kane are power forwards. they can fight but they also score a lot and fit the attributes of a power forward more than an enforcer.

Kane and the Tkachuks fight to win, not for the heck of it. They fight when they are losing or if they are challangef to a fight

So shouldn't they be on the list? They may not be enforcers but their still goons.

goons and enforcers are the same thing. those players were not drafted for the sole purpose to knock peoples teeth out.

Goon and enforcer are pretty much synonymous.

Isn't an enforcer a player who's sole purpose to hit hard while a goon a player who does other things while still being a prick and fighting?

goons are just guy that fight a lot. the other thing your describing is an agitator such as marchand, and the tkachuks.

Boro is tough, but he's a solid 3rd pair guy. I don't think he qualifies as as a goon.

I think this is really condescending toward Marchand.
Look I don't like him either and think he's a weirdo little rat with a huge nose.
But he's not a chicken ****. He's dropped gloves with guys bigger than him. Some times losing.
I'd call him a lot of things, but chicken **** isn't one of them. Especially given he's one of the smallest guys on the ice.
No he's not going to fight someone like Wilson or whoever, but come on, there is a huge size difference there.
But he's scrapped it up 10 times in his career and they aren't all some cheap shot.

Truth is he has been protected because he's smaller. There is no doubt about that. But you don't go sending a 5'9 guy who scores to fight.
