I didn't realize Josh Anderson's 1 goal would cost a 1st rounder. If we extrapolate that valuation, Matthews must be worth 2 or 3 entire franchises.

Read the conditions.

He's one year removed from a healthy 27 goal season and the pick is only a first if he returns to form with Toronto making the playoffs.

But on the bright side, I got roasted over conditional picks before anyone said a word about Jack Eichel coming to Columbus or the offer sheet for Sergachev lmao

Thats why the pick has 2 conditions. Anderson has had all kinds of success in past seasons and just never found his groove this season.

TBH I completely forgot that I even put Malgin in there because I was so focused on creating a super convoluted list of conditions on the picks.

Wow, that is a bad Eichel trade. If Columbus had a remotely comparable player I'd ask if you'd take that package but...

Starts with a legitimate 2C, best center prospect in the organization, another A+ prospect, another B prospect, 2 1sts (if low firsts then 1-2 other pieces). You're offer is outbid by 19 other teams with serious offers.

Obviously the Eichel stuff is just ridiculous and isn't worth mentioning. You can keep Anderson, he is so overrated. No thanks.

Going from 27 to 1 goal is far beyond not finding ones groove. I'd say what he is is somewhere in the middle, a 30 point 15 goal scoring depth winger. "But he hits a lot" or whatever Anderson fans say, I don't care, not thanks, he isn't worth the assets. I'd sooner give Clifford a 1 million to come back and hit people.

I'm beyond fine not spending the assets to get him and be fooled when he scores 20 goals next year for someone else. But we are talking about a player who scored 29 points in his first full season and 30 in his second full before having a "Breakout" season with 27 goals that he followed up with 1 goal. So with his long proven track record of success, I think there is more proof suggesting he's a bottom 6 30 point winger than a top 6 30 goals scorer that would warrant a 1st round pick.

If your bottom 6 Anderson is scoring the 20 goals he did in those seasons, as well as being the physical presence that a guy like Clifford brings, he'd still be a steal at the 2nd round pick it cost to get him.

Hard to say. I actually think you did a good job, mostly on that Eichel trade. The rest is just to hard for me to proses

Again 1 20 goal season, not years of that production. He's all yours. He's a guy who could maybe score 20 goals if he got 20 minutes a night with the stars but he's not as good as Hyman or Mikheyev and nothing similar to Nylander and Marner.

Hes been at or close to that mark for 3 seasons. Imagine paying a 2nd for a Clifford you can score 20 goals a year but nope, Leafs are going to end up paying a 2nd for Clifford lol.

They would have paid a 2nd had the season ended due to Campbell winning games.

So it wasn't exactly a 2nd for Clifford, it was more than that. But you are talking about a 1st for Anderson, no thank you.
