DeBrincat never spent significant time with Kane. 2018 they never saw a shift

2019 He was with Strome and Perlini for the vast majority of the season.

Over the last 3 seasons, Debrincat has spent 1360 mins with Toews OR Kane. 1656 mins without either of them. That comes out to 45% That's just at 5v5. If you bump it to all strengths, it's more than half the time. I can't speak to all the line configurations. Those have shifted constantly it seems like. But his ice time is affected by Chicago's top 2 guys. Not nearly as much as Guentzel, but to say it's nothing is swinging too far in the other direction.

Thats one of the dumbest things I ever read. A guy who is in his 3rd full season isn't going to get better because hes 26? And if Guentzel only scored 40 because of Crosby, why is their other lineman, Dom Simon, unable to score 10? And what about this year without Crosby. He was on pace to have another 40 goal year. Let me guess, it was because of Malkin right?

Are you really going to pretend that Crosby and Malkin arent two guys that make linemates better? You are talking abou players that kept Dupuis and Kunitz a good 3-4 years in the league longer than they should have been. If this board was around back then Pit fans would be pimping out James Neal as being untouchable due to hitting 40. Simon is not a top 6 forward shallow depth is the only reason he even plays there.

Where did I say Crosby and Malkin dont make their line mates better? My point was how can you say someone hitting 40 goals is because of their line mates? Doesnt make sense. If Guentzel hitting 40 is because of who he played with, then that same logic applies to Debrincat

Guentzel couldnt even hit 25 when he was tried as a 3C. He couldnt carry a line. DeBrincat hit 40 with Strome being his center. There is a gigantic difference between the centers and there is an even bigger difference between the two when they had to be the best player on his line. Guentzel crumbled and had to be reunited with Sid while Cat potted 40. If you cant see the difference there then there is nothing further to discuss

lmao just stop. 1st. Guentzel was tried as a center and it didnt work because guess what.... hes not a center. Crazy. 2nd. Look at who he had on his line in the very few games they had him at center. And if Debrincat is so great and can play without Kane ot Toews, how's come he didnt even score 20 this year and majority of his goals came on the powerplay?

Didnt even mention DeBrincat can actually drove his line and potted 77pts while Guentzel was a 30pt player without Crosby and Malkin on top of being a lot younger.

I just saw Debrincat’s stats & he is even pretty good defensively. Still, Guentzel is way better. He set a playoff record for goals by a rookie & then put up 21 points in 12 games the following postseason. What has DeBrincat done?

There doesnt need to be a debrincat to guentzel comparison to note that the value in this trade is off. Sure guentzel is the better player and it isnt particularly close. But Debrincat is worth more than POJ and Strome. Debrincat isnt going to be moved for young unproven talent or draft picks, because chances are they aren't going to find someone who has his shooting ability with any pick after the top 10. If he gets moved, it would probably be for someone who is either on his same plane (a young but proven talent who has control), or someone who is going to help them push for a cup "one last time" (I sure hope not)

I get that on Tuomisto but that EDM 2nd doesn't look to be anything special considering they are getting a starting goalie with a couple of Cups when they have NO goaltending to speak of. I'd be willing to add within reason, what you looking for?

Bernier has been playing very well since the allstar break and when you compare the two. Murray has played 38 games with a GAA - 2.87 and SV% - .899. Bernier has played 46 games with a GAA - 2.95 and SV% - .907. Now Bernier is on the worst team in the league this season and Murray is on one of the best. Pittsburgh allows 2.85 goals and 29.7 shots against a game. Detroit allows 3.73 goals and 38.2 shots against a game. That's almost a goal and 10 shots more a game but the stats are almost identical. Since Bernier has a year left on his contract so there is no need to go out overpay for a goalie that has been very average since winning the cup.

DET has ZERO goalies or even decent prospects.

I dont think anything Pittsburgh would be willing to give up would be attractive to Chicago. From the 3 trade perspective, I could see them going for NYR's 1st rounder, maybe Kravtsov (idk how hes been doing recently tbh). Part of the appeal for CHI to keep debrincat is we already have him locked up for the next 3 years at a reasonable cap hit. Idk who else NYR has in their system that would have big enough value to appeal for Debrincat that they would be comfortable giving up. I could see Deangelo being a target as well

I'll give you my personal opinion about Murray and his current "funk". He got married. He is a boxer who is distracted by not boxing because he is boxing. If I were to go a bit deeper, he got married to trailer trash.

Crosby likes to play with him. That’s why he plays there. I recognize the pens flaws but shallow forward depth is simply not one of them.

Ok back off the rabbit trails caused by illogical profile-insulters...... Debrincat’s is a really nice piece (not as good as Jake IMHO) but I agree with whatever sane person said that’s not enough—on that point—not insulting your profile or whatever. Some people have nothing better to do....
Anyway I do think Pit should give up more in this theoretical trade. Possibly Legare, Joseph, Strome, 2nd for Debrincat after we give the first for Strome to go to Chi.
Now this is still a long shot and young 40 goal scorers don’t often get moved, but ACGMs are to explore ideas.
Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t see the Murray to Det proposal. Murray yes is still young, but as you pointed out, Det doesn’t exactly have the deepest prospect pool and are still a few years away. Murray signs a 6 year deal for example but only has a year or two left when Det is relevant.

With Bernier on for at least another season it gives Detroit time. They just don't have enough pieces in place to give up a multiple assets for one player. Murray has put up some what average numbers since his cup winning season.

And how many #3Cs have 25 goals???
Your username is correct—stop being ridiculous. Your bias is obvious. “Guentzel crumbling” is just not a thing. Guentzel slurping is a thing—The Jake Shake.

He scored 40 with Strome does being a Pens fan automatically make one disabled? He couldnt score 40 as a center on his own line, nor as a winger on his own line that is the point he needed to be with a generational playmaker to even hit 40. Take him away from then he gets a gigantic drop all the while DeBrincat hit 40 with Strome being his C from Nov-the end of the season.

Guentzel is closer to Neal than he is to DeBrincat

Does being a Blackhawks fan automatically make you stupid and unable to comprehend sentences? Its a simple question. If Debrincat is this great scorer like you are claiming, how's come he didnt even hit 20 goals this year? lmao.
