The question is why would PIT acquire Larsson when they have Letang and Marino on their top4 RD (assuming Schultz walks)

I thought Marino was a Right shot that played left side? Larsson really replaces Schultz, but on a cheaper contract. PIT seems to be trending away from Murray due to the contract he may request.

Why in the world would Chicago do that? How will they sign Strome/Kubalik/Crawford and all their others guys while taking cap?

This thread assumes buyout. If that's the case, Seabrook and his near-7M cap is gone. They won't have a hard time bringing them all back if that is the case.

Can't see Holland moving Larsson with just Bouchard as the replacement don't think he will want Bouchard rushed into top 4. Might be ready but might and not gambling with top 4D is risky can easily cost your team the year. AA contract also makes no sense like 1M overpay if you look at Kapanen/Johnsson contracts and point production

Alright, then we can cut the 1M off and release sbisa and sign a better RHD instead, Pysyk is in that range.

I'm guessing you meant CBO (Compliance Buy Out) not CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement).
    Anyways, on to the trades:
    - Pittsburgh doesn't entertain that and Murray doesn't sign that contract either.
    - I guess you can get a 5th for Khaira from someone. Probably not Chicago though
    - Calgary doesn't want Russel. That's why Treliving traded him in the first place
    - Montreal trade seems fine

    Yeah, LOL I meant CBO.

I'm confused why PIT would want more for a mediocre goalie who is only best known for his first two playoff performances. Goalies rarely get their actual value too and are often short sold. I guess I could add slightly? Marody could be a solid 3rd line center for PIT in a few years.

Would need to confirm with PIT fans but he's right-handed and believe he only played their because Schultz was activated/Dumoulin injured. Expect Dumoulin-Letang, Pettersson-Marino as top4

we had Marino on the left playing with Tanger because we had a ton of injuries on the left, he usually plays right

well it's a couple things, Pittsburgh has contract control on Murray while Larsson is a pending UFA. Pittsburgh doesn't need RD for their top 4, and Larsson is far to overpaid for the 3rd pair. Marody wont be better then McCann at 3C.

Calgary didn't trade russell, they let him walk at FA, plus they are gonna lose I think 3 men in ufa so it's better to get one(but i do think some salary should be retained)

Marody isn't a good player because of his skating. His trajectory is a career ahler

He was traded to Dallas, There are significantly better options out there then Russell anyways. Zero interest in giving up assets for him

What do you see in Pysyk that makes you want to sign him? He's a vastly overpaid 3rd pairing defenseman.

If he's a mediocre goalie why do you have him as your starter? If he's mediocre, just sign a UFA who can split the starts with Koskinen and use your assets in another way.

It depends if they're ready or not. Bear jumped straight to 1RD in the 2nd game of his rookie year.

Calgary is concerned about their actual cash spending, so maybe they're interested in Russell. Remember the Lucic-Neal trade? It seemed uneven at the time, but the real reason for it was because Lucic's contract was front-loaded, so the Flames saved $10M in cash by making that trade. And while Russell's $4M cap hit remains intact, after his July 1st bonus is paid out he is owed just $1.5M for the last season of his deal. That has some value - no retention needed.
