Hey @ChiHawk , still think Leafs need a goalie? Cause I know for sure that Chicago still needs a playoff spot 😂

Freddie had 1 good game in the last 10...really on a big roll! Lmao

7 playoffs, 3 cups and 5 conference finals in the last 10 years. Leafs; 3 First round exits...hysterical as if any hawks fan is jealous of the Leafs heading for another first round exit if they make it.

So wrong. Their bad is embarrassing bad. They are battling for a wild card spot and youre still trying to talk this team up lmao. They are getting bounced again this year, if they make it.

What are you talking about as I think the Leafs have now turned the corner after bottoming out and figured out how to play team defence tonight in 4-0 victory over the Penguins.

Yup. You are 100% correct. From Tuesday to Thursday, they without a doubt turned a corner and all of a sudden figured out how to play defense.

I find it hilarious leaf fans try and talk trash on the blackhawks and penguins. 2 of the most successful franchises the past decade +. Meanwhile, the leafs have been known for missing playoffs and getting bounced in the 1st round by boston. Nothing else

Oh really? Good for them. Now look up the teams they beat during that stretch. Since you want to say im ignoring a lot of stuff

I don't think Random needs any backup from me (he would make me look silly in two seconds) but as far your "look at the teams they beat during that stretch" comment, any team (including the Pens, yes big shocker..I know) can only beat the team they are facing.

I never understood that kind of comment...like what? So their suppose to lose intentionally instead?

Ugh.

Theres a big difference between going on a win streak against playoff teams and contenders and a win streak thats mainly non playoff teams. A lot of leaf fans run their mouth after they beat up on non playoff teams, and then they suddenly go quiet once their team gets beat up on by contenders. Just look at the title for this GM "Everythings cool were contenders again". Some fans actually believe that because of their win against the penguins, but will forget they just got crushed by the same penguins team and buffalo. Just look at who they beat this month and who they lost to. Every team has easy parts of their schedule, but you dont see majority of fans from TB, WSH, PIT, STL, etc start planning a parade when they beat those teams

The Leafs had to hit rock bottom with the previous losses to Buffalo and Pittsburg to finally buying in and committing to play a team defence game to be successful in the NHL. I kind of disagree with your comment in that I think it has taken them the entire season to figure out this concept. Shutting out a team like the Penguins with Crosby and Malkin is the type of game that can really transform the fortunes of a young team like the Leafs.

So since they turned the corner in an incredible 2 day span, im expecting no more 5+ goals against anymore and blowout loses, right?

But you can only beat the team you are facing any given night.

Shows the lack of intelligence when someone doesn't understand something this basic.

The difference is that the Leafs are a younger and up and comming team with some really talented younger players and the team is transforming into a powerhouse team like Tampa, Washington, Pittsburg and St. Louis right before your eyes and you do not even realize what is happening. This transformation is also very exciting for Leafs fans which have been waiting for years for a winner and you bet that the fans are getting excited and starting to plan the Stanley Cup parade in Toronto because it will be 4 times bigger than the Raptors Championship parade.

Yes, you heard it from me first. Sometimes a team has to hit rock bottom to figure out how to play winning hockey in the NHL. This is no different that the Blues last year who were in last place in January and figured out their game and won a Stanley Cup.

Contenders? I know that was tongue-in-cheek due to the win last night, but the Leafs path to the Cup is going to be pretty difficult: it looks like the only way they can make the playoffs is to get 3rd in the Atlantic, because there are several Metropolitan teams well ahead in the WC race. Which means they'll likely play Boston in the first round, and we all know how that usually goes.

I think to be a "Contender" you have to have very good odds of getting out of the first round, whereas Toronto would be the underdog in that matchup.
