Description
See this AGM: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/304078 for the deadline deals listed below in trades 1, 2 and 3.

#4 - this is just fulfilling the conditions of the Neal-Lucic swap.

#5 - if Neal scores 25+ this year (he's on pace to score 30), I think many GM's will see 2018-19 as an anomaly, since Neal has scored 20+ in every season that he's been in the NHL - including his rookie season and even the 48-game lockout season. He's one of the league's most consistent goal scorers, pretty much exactly the player NJ signed Simmonds to be (and isn't). He'll be their net-front guy on the PP and a veteran presence in the room.

#6 - pretty common trade on this site.

#7 - blockbuster that I just cooked up in the last 15 seconds. Maybe it's WAY off, I haven't delved into the numbers at all. IMO Vrana has a little more value than Nuge just due to contract status - both players contracts expire in 2021, but Vrana is an RFA while Nuge is a UFA. I've retained on Nuge to bring the value closer. Puljujarvi has more value than Boyd though, and I've added RHD Joel Persson as well - does it even things off? Is Vrana off limits? Add a pick one way or the other? I'm not sure.

Is Braden Holtby's contract reasonable? He's had below average numbers for 3 seasons now and there are 15 UFA goalies that have a better Sv% than he does. He has major name recognition, but his play hasn't backed that up for quite a while.

sounds like Nurse is going to do a 2 year deal b/w 5-6m, just said on TSN insider trading bc Oilers cant afford to extend him 8 years market price.

lol, Vrana and RNH aren't even comparable, Vrana is light years better than him, he's the caps most valuable forward rn including age/contract... and RNH is a 3C that gets more ice time than he should... se JG Pageau in OTT as his best comparable

Also I'd rather have Boyd than Pulju

Boyd has only been one of the best fourth liners in the league, Nuge doesn't do the defense, is just brutal in the transition game, and doesn't get a ton of chances or even points considering the amount of ice time he gets and Pulju is 21 almost 22 and has shown ZERO signs of NHL competency

Nuge has played with 2 guys that shouldn't be in the NHL. Lets see how Backstom plays with Khaira and Russel. He would have 10 points. Poolparty does not want to play for the oilers due to Drai. He will be at least a 3rd line player, but as high as a 1st line player and was injured the whole time he played for the Oilers. But thanks for your inaccurate information.

Further more it is not a good trade for washington and I wouldn't do it if I was the caps, but your statement is inaccurate

Weird cause his market price for 8 years should be 6.5M or under, guy is pretty good but has his flaws. Clearly not in the Carlson, Josi, Hedman teir of Dmen and should be paid according

I bet they are using the Trouba deal as a comparable, which oilers would be smart to avoid getting near that value.

Nurse is trying to use Trouba but his comparable should be Esa Lindell or at most Josh Morrissey

Those guys had lots of RFA years being bought up. Trouba deal bought up 1 year of RFA. Nurse would be getting 2 years of RFA being bought up if he signed a mega deal this summer. Thats why its smart to avoid it now when the team cap structure needs a season or 2 to breath.

Bottom line.. Nurse isn't Trouba, Carlson, or Hedman doesn't matter how many RFA years. He isn't worth 8M rather trade him then pay that price

Oh I know that but that’s his agents job, over value then settle with slightly above market value

Morrissey and Lindell have just 2 RFA years on their new deals - exactly the same number as Nurse has.

Nurse's agent used the Morrissey bridge almost exactly last time: Morrissey signed for $3.15M x 2 on September 16, 2018, on the eve of training camp. Nurse signed for $3.2 x 2 the very next day. Now Nurse's agent is ignoring Morrissey's $6.25M x 8 extension and targeting Trouba's $8M x 7 extension, so you can understand why Oilers fans are pissed about that right now. Sure Nurse scores more than both of them (at 5v5), but McDavid is a big part of that. Why should Edmonton have to pay everybody extra for McDavid's production? Okay, now I'm ranting...

yup thats the annoying part, points pay and agents use that to hemorrhage teams cap space,
Tyson barrie will be a prime example of that, hes a talented but flawed Dman and his offensive ability is one of the best in the leagues. Karlsson is getting 11m, Myers got 6m...Barrie is going to push his value closer to the Karlsson side middle of those players wanting 8m and some team might as well give it to him (cough couch vancouver)
