Get rid of the Murphy part and I think we could do it. Not sure about the Bowers guy, is he a prospect?

2017 1st round pick by OTT... Was traded for Duchene (part of the package). He has potential.

Looked at his stats, right now he's doing well. Just not Murphy because need him right now.

Mediocre prospect, about .5ppg in the A this year, center, could puah for the big leagues but probably not top 6

How

Murphy sucks, Gustafsson is a UFA and isn't very good, just a bottom pairing Dman., Saad is decent but not a crazy upgrade over Donskoi or Bura this year on the 2nd line....so moving Annunen is a very good Goalie prospect, Bowers, multiple draft picks Kamenev. for really not upgrade the D at all and really Calvert is out producing Saad.

DOnt see how this is an upgrade for the Avs, all they do is swap parts out of the middle 6 and get worse on D while giving up a lot of young assets .

Murphy doesn't suck. He's quite solid. Gustafsson is good offensive D, although the fact he is pending UFA lowers his value. Saad is an upgrade from Bura and Donskoi. All of their statistics are a bit low due to them playing in probably the worst team in their division...

Murphy does suck, hawks fans would be the first one to tell you that.
Gustafsson is being outscored by Ian Cole, who is better defensively and players a tailor made playoff style....when your value is offensive ability and being out scored by Cole. Thats not an upgrade
I said Saad is a slight upgrade over them this year, so like I said swapping out middle parts and not improving on D and giving up 5 future young assets.

I think thats a terrible trade, Sakic would get fired and mocked for that.

Yeah it is, for Chicago. Hawks decline...a 1st and 2nd and a bunch of bottom 6 potential players is not enough for Murphy (top 4), Saad (top 6) and Gus (top 4).

Murphy is having abetter season that I thought, looking at his underlying numbers surprising bc of what has been said about him all last season,.
Gustafsson is not even close to a top 4 dman, he is a complete liability defensively and has mediocre offensive numbers for how poor defensively he is.

And to say nothing but bottom 6 potential players shows your complete lack of knowledge about the prospects listed, one being a solid goalie in Annunen. Come on dude

Hawks probably wouldn't trade Murphy, and Gus probably isn't quite a first. A more realistic (but still unlikely within the division) offer would probably look like
CHI gives : Gus, Saad
COL gives : 1st, Calvert, and either Kamenev or the 2nd rounder

I haven't seen a single CHI fan who says Murphy sucks to be fair... Gus isn't as good as last year, but with being that cheap and somewhat ok he still carries value.

Acceptable.

Its also probably better for your expansion draft situation, because you would probably lose Murphy or girard, whoever isnt protected

Murphy obviously, he'd be pending UFA at that point.

I can retract on Murphy once looking on his number, hes having a pretty good season, shocking bc all Hawk fans used to do was complain about him on twitter from the moment they traded for him, had no idea he was having this resectable of season.

But point still stands on Gus, he doesnt crack the Avs roster at this point. Dont see the value there at all still, way too much for older expiring contract players, way too much youth to give up when you could invest that on better upgrades than Saad

I'd be willing to alter it. How about dropping Gus from CHI and Annunen+2nd from COL. Then this move would be Calvert+Cole+Bowers+Kamenev+1st for Saad+Murphy.

It's not just this season with Murphy but last season also he was very solid. The first season he was questionable after the Hawks acquired him, but he's grown into a very solid #2 or #3 D guy and on the Hawks has the best advanced stats.

Regarding Gus, there is a decent market for a PP QB and puck moving defenseman despite his defensive liability. He will garner a 2nd plus.

Hawks have goalie depth, that's not an issue.

Shane Bowers (20) is a bottom 6 guy and possibly a 1st round bust, none of his numbers scream definite NHL player and certainly not a top 6. He's young though at 20, and worth watching.
Matt Calvert (30) is okay, but Hawks don't have a bottom 6 depth issue. They need speedy wingers in the top 6 that are young to help us rebuild. We also don't need a 30 year old.
Kamenev (23) looks to be a bust. He had a pretty good season with the Admirals in 16/17 but hasn't done much since. For 23 years old, his resume doesn't scream exciting; is he hurt the last 2 seasons?
Ian Cole (30)...well...enough said.

Here's the problem with this trade; Saad, Murphy and Gus are all the 3 best players in that trade by a landslide. The 1st and 2nd don't make up for the throwaways coming back and a couple of B- C prospects.

Gus is better than cole? What planet do you live on. Just this one statement alone you lose all credibility in your talent assessment. I know you over value hawks all the time but this is out of hand on this one

This coming from the guy who claims saad is a top 10 winger in the nhl or whatever that was that you think byram needs to be included for him.

Ian Cole is not the player he used to be. He's about to turn 31 years old and this year and next carrying $4M+ cap hit....no thank you. He does nothing for a team trying to rebuild on the fly. Don't try to tell me Cole is awesome, he's heading on a downward trend at 31 years old which is normal at his age. He's a top 4 right now, no different then Gus.

When did I say Saad is a top 10 winger in the NHL big guy? I did say top 100 player in the NHL, maybe you forgot a 0.

Yeah, this coming from a guy who thinks Byram is as good as Dahlin because he was the first defensive player drafted in a unusually poor defensive draft year.
