I'd totally endorse a Bracco and Kap for Pesce deal. Then move Ceci for anything you can and you're in great shape.

Y'all need to give your head a shake. They aren't going to move Pesce for such an unappealing package. The only way we get Pesce is by losing someone we don't want to lose; Nylander, Liljegren, or Sandin. If one of those guys aren't included there's no chance Pesce wears a leafs jersey in the near future.

Pesce isn't anything special, he's a good player but I wouldn't move any of those guys you listed in a 1 for 1. Sandin and Liljegren both could be much better than Pesce and Nylander is way better. No if Pesce gets moved, its not going to be for a top line defenceman package. Because he isn't a top line defenceman. He's #3 on Carolina and has had a time and a half dealing with Gardiner. Hamilton and Slavin are the stars in Carolina and the system makes everyone else look better than they are. Much like how guys on the Islanders seem so good but its a product of a team system. Individually Pesce doesn't do half as much as you think he does. So Kapanen + is about the best you are going to get. And the Plus isn't going to be one of Sandin or Liljegren. As for Nylander, that starts and ends with Slavin. Which was what Dubas discussed when Nylander was a RFA looking for his contract. Both teams didn't go further than that.

How many times does it have to be said? You want Pesce it will cost you at least Nylander. Kapaenen+Bracco doesn't move the needle on a Brett Pesce deal.

As a leafs fan and avid Marlies fan I agree, moving any of those three for Pesce is not likely a smart move. But to get Pesce that is what it would cost, so the deal isn't happening. We need to recognize that and stop offering horrible packages that aren't going to get it done.

The Canes are not trading Pesce. Get that through your heads! (Not for that return anyways, it is not even close to enough).

No it wouldn't cost that much. Why? Because fans aren't in control of NHL rosters, actual GM's are in charge.

They made it farther 1 year and that was due to a weak division. I know Carolina declines it easy but Pesce is not as good as everyone on this site makes him out to be

A trade requires two people to accept, so in reality, the cost is NA. For an actual cost of a trade to be established there has to be a perceived overlap in the value of assets, and in this case there isn't and is never likely to be.

carolina don't have a guy to replace pesce. it's not that pesce is jesus or whatever, it's that trading him for someone like kapanen doesn't make too much sense.

Keep making excuses. A weak division, huh? Pens, Isles and Caps all had 100pts (same as you). The Jackets added a ton at the deadline and got substantially better. They Beat the Caps and and Isles team who was very good and had the best goalie in the league.

Your team and players are vastly overrated. You are very top heavy. nobody wants the guys you don't want. Bracco is nearly 23 and never played a game in the NHL. Kapanen and Johnsson are 3rd line guys who happen to play with some elite talent and helped their stats. They are 40pts players

Pesce is overrated, I agree. He is top4 and he is sold as a top pairing guy. Nylander is also vastly overrated.

I 100% agree and I think this trade isn’t a fair deal for Carolina, it’s not even hurricanes fans mostly, it’s just leaf haters who overvalue every player the leafs are interested in
