At $6M cap, Saad would instantly become the worst contract on the Pens, yes, including Jack Johnson.

Last year Saad got top line time, yet managed to get only 1/2 the points of his linemates. Well rounded you say? No. Daniel Sprong was more physical, and he is only okay defensively.
This year... he is basically a Simon/Blueger type... at SIX TIMES THE COST!!!

If you really want to bring the Pittsburgh kid into Pittsburgh... the deal must include either 50% retention and/or Jack Johnson going the other way.

Saad was decent last year and has been really good this year. Johnson and Tanev have worse contracts than Saad.

Penguin fans tend to glorify Simon. Jay beagle guy told me he was the best defensive forward in the NHL.

I don't know of the player to whom you refer.

nothing to see...

move along...

(but actually, you mean the guy that is about to surpass 3 of his 5 years worth of offensive production thereby proving how much he shatthebed the last two years? That guy? Yeah, everything that I said still stands firm)

I could spend some time debating it, but I know it would be a fruitless effort. So then why bother? Besides, I have better things to do than that. Have a good day.

Yeah I’m bitter he’s playing well. Like where was this guy for 3-4 years. Also question for you. Why does your fan base glorify Simon? Do you guy believe he’s a above average middle 6 forward. Also an elite defensive player or is that just a select few on this site?

The Saad addition would be great for Pitts... not sure if the value worth it... UFA Chucky, Aaston is a project because with all the injuries the Pens ad and he couldn't break through... sorry but that's not enough for Saad... that's Sad sarcasm

From what I've noticed he's a metrics fanboy's dream. Many pens fans don't see it. He's smart and he is responsibly defensively and I think he's an NHL caliber player but he could easily be replaced. Sid loves playing with him and Guentzel.

I could see why Hawks fans wouldn't think it's enough, but thinking outside the box, if CHI isn't going anywhere this year, why not dump Saad and his 6M for a cheap young forward in ZAR, and Chucky is a UFA next season. That's 10M of cap space for CHI for next season.

Hardly matter when you make idiotic points like that. Why are you speaking for him? Maybe he’s a jay beagle fan? Either way a terrible point is a terrible point regardless who it comes from

I don't think the fans glorify him, I think that Crosby does... so Sullivan plays them together.

However, there are many many fans that are incapable of individual thought, so since Crosby likes Simon, they like Simon. If you ask them why, they will stumble because the "why" would require individual thought, which as I said.... eludes them.

Very well said. Crosby has a very odd taste in wingers. I think guentzel might be the only really talented guy he’s ever been paired with. High hockey IQ and solid everywhere else

Makes sense look at his past comments he once said that Copp was better than Kuznetsov. He’s far from being a capitals fan. He might hate them for not overpaying beagle.

You mean besides the obvious-3 -3 turnover ratio barely hit or blocks shots? Seems like he’s average to good but hardly elite or great

There is a poster who goes absolutely bonkers off the mark with basing player trade values on meaningless advanced stats...
