Georgiev is not worth that much. If we gave up more than Bracco, Hutch and maybe a mid-late round pick for him, I would be surprised.

There are other cheap options for the Leafs.

Why would the Rangers want Hutchinson as a part of any trade???

I've seen multiple posts that think his value is a first, and compare the potential deal to Jones, and a couple of other guys.

I'm not sure how I'd value him after having multiple arguments on the subject. Probably a 2nd and a reasonable prospect like Bracco, but I'd imagine Leafs fans think that's too much.

2nd is too much for a backup. He’s about to lose his waiver exemption anyway, also plenty of other options for backups. And if you look at the rest of December plus January, it’s not that hard for Leafs to just play Andersen lots. No back to backs in January, two more in December but it’s Detroit & NYR and Rangers again & Jersey. Even with Hutch in net those are winnable games for TO

2nd and Bracco or Kapanen straight up. These young goalies like Georgiev don’t grow on trees. Stop offering a 2nd rounder we really don’t need.

I think we need a backup who can ply in more than just back to backs. Freddie can't play 60+ if we want to get past the first round. Georgiev can do that. If we need to overpay i'm okay with that, because we're not winning a cup with Hutch at backup

second and Bracco is a done deal imo, still seems like an overpay tho. goalies don't tend to hold a lot of value

People say that yes, but do you think having a young, cheap, controllable replacement ready for Anderson if he Prices out, regresses or gets injuried? People say he’s not worth it but that’s honestly just straight up asinine. He’s a young goalie and who’s playing really good. Martin Jones is on a horrible contract and is older and a lot less valuable at the time of his trade and Georgiev plays in front of the youngest defense not to mention.

Stalock is much cheaper and is in the similar boat of being pushed out by an up and coming goalie. Trade for him. Georgiev is overrated and is not the best option (especially given that he will probably want near 2M)

I dont know much about Toronto's prospects, but if they have a goalie they like they should probably pay less and get more of a vet backup. If not, pay a little more and get Georgiev. But he's not proven enough to return a first. I think Bracco and a 3rd or 4th is fair. The Rangers need forward prospects.

All of these posts are ridiculous. We have the potential of owning 2 star goalies. How about NOT embarrassing ourselves by playing against one for a meaningless return!

and then risk losing Shesterkin to the KHL? He has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave to the KHL and you've gotta think he didn't come over to North America to play in the minors. You need picks and prospects, the Leafs need a backup. It's a trade that works for both sides.
