I dont think karlsson got anywhere near what fans expected. That's a bit much to expect even for mcdavid.

Mcdavid is the best player in the league. Karlsson was a rental being traded after a major fallout in the organization. His value much like hoffmans plummeted.... Karlsson was also 28 when he was traded. and was battling a couple injuries the year before. they never really recouped his real value but mcdavid has 7 years left on his deal... isnt a rental that they might lose in a year. he also is 22 and doesnt turn 23 till jan. so all 7 years are prime years.

This is laughable. Absolutely laughable. Auston Mathews isnt even good enough to smell McDavids ****. If edmonton even did trade him to toronto it would be at the minimum Mathews, Marner, and Rielly or a couple of first rounders. Thats a minimum.

But he isn't an average players. 30+ goals every year and he would have 2 40 goal years if he didnt miss 10+ games last year. Comparing 2 franchise centers and saying "well he's average compared to mcdavid" makes zero sense.
