I don't think McDavid is worth this price. There is a point, in the salary cap world, where the price is too much. This proposed trade takes an elite #1 defenceman, 2 top 6 forwards, 2 1st rounders and then other stuff for 1 elite winger. That is a joke. Even if this was for McDavid, it doesn't make any sense to do. No GM would do this, it would gut the team and not improve them.

The Caps will give you: Oshie, Hagelin, Gudas, and Kempny

You just described why the majority of the trades for elite players on this site are dumb. No GM is gutting their team to bring in an elite player, unless it's Ottawa and they don't really have a team to gut to begin with.

If a star player is getting traded it will be for another star player and not much else. I've said it several times in regards to Edmonton, their fans should pray that it never comes to a trade because they will 100% lose that trade and it'll be the biggest gut punch ever. No GM will out of the blue offer up an incredible package to get him since the price to get Edmonton to even consider it would be insane and detrimental to the well being of the franchise so that eliminates any possibility of anyone even kicking tires on McDavid. The only way a player like him would even hit the market is if he demanded a trade and if that happened, it would put Edmonton in such a terrible negotiating position that they would have to hope to get a franchise centre back in return and almost anything else the team would be willing to part with, which wouldn't be much.
