Maybe Hague is with Reaves ? That trade would make more sense. Habs get Reaves (cap dump) + Hague (B+ prospect) for a 3rd + a 6th !

Come on @Poehling. I've read plenty of your posts, and you usually post sensible stuff, but saying this about Reaves is silly. His physical presence alone is valuable, and Montreal has none of that. He also can play a little bit, so he's not your classic 1980s goon. Maybe the picks are a 4th and 6th, but to say no one is getting a pick for Reaves is no bueno.

It's a gutsy deal, I wouldn't be mad at it. Not sure Vegas goes for that, though, so it might be better if we just signed Gusev to an offer sheet they can't match. Maybe 3.5-ish.

He may worth a 6th round pick alone, that’s it. Not 2 picks. Lehkonen Armia Danault KK Poehling Drouin are 6’0 or more. Weber Chiarot Kulak Petry Folin Juulsen are all 6’2 are more. Only Mete who’s small.

They like Hague and they’re very thin on D. Maybe we could get Gusev for that, but not both

For us it looks good, but for Vegas eh not really. You would have to give up Edmundson instead of Bortuzzo for them to look at it a little more closely. So package Fabbri, MacEachern, Edmundson, and a MId Round Pick for Gusev, and someone that is good, but not as good as Hague, because Hague is their only good defensive prospect. They just traded Brannstrom, so I don't see Vegas doing that. Some of these fellas are being jerks about it, but Vegas wouldn't do it I agree with them. As for Reaves, Reaves is a great Physical player, but you probably get a 4th and a 6th instead of a 3rd. It's kind of substantial and hard to say because Reaves is being overpaid, but is such a talented physical player. Montreal isn't really a physical team, they like playing the more Toronto style of game, and letting their D be the physical.

Reaves would be a good fit in Boston, if you can somehow get them to take the cap it would be good, but unfortunately it looks like they don't have a lot of Cap. So most likely look for another physical team, or team lacking physicality in order for that deal to work out.

ED will offer 2nd round and/or Pulijarvi 4 Reaves.
