PHI MTL TBL TOR ARI BUF

Créé par: CowSaysMoo
Équipe: 2019-20 Wild du Minnesota
Date de création initiale: 7 juin 2019
Publié: 8 juin 2019
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
This team is not legitimately competing next year. Use cap space to take on short-term bad contracts to help teams that are close to the cap and want to win now. Use at least one of the first round picks to draft a centre.

Jared Spurgeon re-signs in Philadelphia for 6 years, $45.5 million. Salary is retained this year so Philadelphia can make more moves after Comcast said they want to make the playoffs next year. MIN takeS on Andrew McDonald and his cap hit, which is why they receive three quality assets in the trade. McDonald is bought out.

Jonas Brodin immediately slots in on the second pairing next to Jeff Petry after the departure of Jordie Benn. MIN receives a young right shot defenseman that is the odd man out with Josh Brook and Cale Fleury knocking on the door.

Tampa Bay gets some much needed cap space without giving up a player off their current roster. MIN receives a young right handed centre that would have more opportunity in MIN than Tampa Bay.

Toronto receives a big body that doesn’t need a new contract until next year. MIN receives a right wing, right shot that can score. Fulfills both teams’ needs.

This is the big trade. BUF receives two players that can step into the lineup right now while fulfilling two of their needs, another scoring winger after locking up Jeff Skinner and a middle 6 centre. In return, MIN receives one of their own and a top line centre for the future. They also take a contract back to help BUF have more cap space to make additional moves if needed.

No. We have no center depth. No way would they move one of their few forward prospects for zucker.

Then who is in the deal in your mind? And don’t say Larson, Girgonsons, Sobotka and a 3rd.

MIN doesn’t need Sheary. They need centres and right shots.

I don't know much about Greenway. Like to know more. Honestly if kapanen cant b packaged for soemthing bigger I'd make this. I wont want to go another year watching Kapanen as a leaf. Hebis so overrated it's disgusting. He skates 100 mph and shoots the puck off the glass and circles away. It's literally all he does. I like him as a #3RW but my god he held Matthews down all year. I guess it is a good thing because it might have lowered Matthews can hit

Greenway has size which Toronto lacks in their top 6 on the wings but he also has skill. On a team like Toronto I could see him fitting in well. Doesn’t have to be the go-to guy for goals but can park himself in front of the net.

Exactly why I traded him there! And he has term left on his deal. Both teams fulfill needs with this trade!

If I was Buffalo I’d give them STL 1st Pick, Sheary (Retain 50%) contract and Marcus Davidsson which will be a good prospect when MINN stocks up their farm system

To be fair, zucker isnt a piece that will get you a potential #1 center. Mittelstadt and 7oa would be the only chances at that from buffalo and i doubt either are available. I can see the stl first and asplund being in play, but if you are insisting on one stop shopping to get a #1 center, we couldnt be worse trading partners.

I’m a Minnesota person and a huge U of M Gopher hockey fan...and I do not believe Mittelstadt will ever be a #1 C. In fact, I wouldn’t bet on him even sticking at center at all. I see him as more of a Mikael Granlund type of player - minus the defensive effort.

Well of course not Larson, Girgonsons, Sobotka and a 3rd, we do not want to over pay for Zucker now do we?
So Buffalo gives a good prospect and a cap dump for a former 30 goal scorer, a still decent prospect and a third. Why would anyone think that is a fair trade? Why would Fenton say yes to this? But of course we get the usual Sabre suspects who think this is a bad deal. Let's make a deal!!! cheers

His development has been... strange. You gotta remember that when he was at Minnesota he was less than a year removed from playing high school hockey, not exactly the toughest competition. He was actually pretty good defensively this year for the Sabres (where he was rushed into a 2C role). He was and still is pretty weak, which IMO is what really limited his offensive production with the Gophers and the Sabres. But his skillset and vision make it hard for me to envision him on the wing.

What Minnesota fans need to come to grips with (as most BUF fans have) is that they have a bad GM that has shown his hand regards to Zucker twice now.

The return is not going to make you happy. Just as the return for ROR did not make BUF fans happy.

I was just giving more context since I think it's too early to say that he won't be successful as a top center, but you're entitled to your own opinion.
