I cant see montreal trade drouin AND gally. They needed scorers, and you traded the few players that can score. I like the return tho, but it would take more thant this imo to get drouin and gally.

having a propect and a 2nd with a cap dump doesnt justify moving gally. if you add the fist rounder high potential to be an NHL player plus a flyer on a blevel might be more more likely.

fwiw saad and gus combined point totals were higher than drouin and gallaghers, 107 to 105. But I agree its probably unlikely mtl parts with gallagher, real coach's player. Just think it makes sense needs wise, habs have a lot of high end forward prospects that could be pushing for ice time this year. Adding Beaudin to the D corp doesnt hurt either.

Gustafsson had ONE good season, he isnt worth like a 1st pairing D, even a legit top 4 Dman. Saad will not fit in CJ systems. Gallagher is 30 goals scorers at 3.75M & a player with heart. Drouin could reach 70+ points in the NHL.

Maybe MTL fans should just hope Drouin can light the lamp for 20 goals next season instead of thinking he's going to put up 70points.

He puts 50 points in 60 games & did sweet ****all the 20 matchs remaining

Last 20 games he had 7 points out of 53 on the season...consistency is a problem for him and has plagued him. Whether he becomes a constant 20g/50p is TBD...even with 5 seasons in the league I think he can, but it would be stretch to think he can put up over 70 points based on what he's shown so far.

This trade is pretty fair, but as a Hawks fan I would say no just don't like the fit.

Gus has had one ELITE offensive season, Drouin has had none. My moneys on Gus to hit 70pts well before Drouin does. A team who wants a game changing pp qb is going to be willing to pay a fair price for that. Cant speak to Juliens system but mtl fans would love saads game. Plays a fast in your face style and can also hit 30 goals playing on a top line. And his advanced numbers are insanely good so you know he can drive his own line like he did in chi last year.
