Hate to say it, maybe the Leafs peaked in November. Hard for me to believe they aren't in the top four in the East or even in the top eight in the NHL now. Don't think they will that many personnel changes on the ice, but back of the bench might be the best alternative.

Kadri isn't going to play the wing and Marleau isn't going to play centre. Gardiner is likely done for the season. There's no chance Brown should be lower on the depth chart than guys like Ennis or Moore. Your lineup needs a lot of work still.

Starting to get the same feeling... think this will be Bab’s job on the line. Can he rally the team together and get out of this funk.

I will say one thing. The goaltending hasn’t been solid either. That combined with some bad puck luck has certainly combined to make the leafs look worse than they actually are. But they certainly are not playing the dominant style they should be. I’m expecting some poor defence from marincin and Holl. I’m not expecting a flat offence that struggles to both create and finish scoring opportunities.

If that's the case it makes the offseason easier, Nylander was still holding out then right?

I'd play Ennis and Moore 20x over before playing Brown. When Goat + Moore + Ennis are out they are noticeably the Leafs best energy line.

But as for the lineup, I'd slot Petan or Ennis in the 3C and make Marleau sit in the press box. Hasn't been anything special this year. He would also slow down Johnsson and Kappy

I like the Tavares and Matthews line how they are now, and I think the Kadri line will be fine once Kapy comes back. But I did really like your D pairs, Gardiner Rielly has worked so well in the past, idk why we haven't seen more of it. Too bad we'll probably never see it again with Jake's back injury frown

I don't blame Nylander for "holding out", but the Leafs seemed to rolling with Leivo and Kapanen. Once Nylander came back, Leivo was traded for nothing and Kapaned dropped down, the Leafs got worse. Said it at the time, I don't like Nylander's contract, and the way the team was rolling, the Leafs should've "caved" on the contract and if necessary have Nylander sit out this season.

Further...don't like the Matthews contract either. Making him the second highest paidplayer in the league....by a lot. Now with Marner, Kapanen, Johnsson first contracts RFA coming, Leafs have set the precedent of overpaying their own RFAs.

It was tongue in cheek.

I know. Hey may Nylander will "hold out" this fall, not report and it will save the Leafs cap.
