I kinda like this. It's something different, but could benefit both of the participants.

Oilers get rapid offensive help, Leafs would get defensive help and prospect/s.

And more mobile imo. Thanks smile I was having like 1mil in cap space with Kappy/Johnny having 3mil each and Marner at 10. So i decided to give them as much as possible. giving them their jersey numbers in deals lol

How about Kapanen instead of Kadri? You guys get to keep your crazy center depth and Edmonton gets the speedy winger they need

Then it wouldnt work salarywise. And we still have good C depth. They would get speedy winger in Brown. He is actually really fast.

LOL but it was close on TDL. For Oilers that would be the best option, speed, tenacity, work bee, defence.. all good. And scoring potential.

From a Leafs view, I don't like it but I don't hate it. The pieces coming back are interesting, but the guys moving moved out are too much to give up. Benson and Puljujarvi have too many question marks on them, especially to throw them into the lineup next season. Both need more time to develop at the AHL level before seeing full time NHL minutes. To me that basically makes the trade Kadri, Zaitsev, Brown, and a 2nd for Larsson.. to which I say hell no to. Giving up 3 effective guys for 1 which would be a marginal upgrade at best

Zaitsev and Brown are both playing bottom tier min, while they might have potential to move up the line up they have not show it to be sustainable in the past.

Kadri = Larsson
Brown = Poolparty
Zaitsev = Benson + 2nd, i think the 2nd is a bit much as this could probably be done with a 4th

Brown is only playing bottom minutes because of the teams depth. He's easily a top 6 guy on Edmonton. So you're giving up 2 top 6 forwards, a 4-5 dman and a pick for a 3-4 dman, and a couple AHLers? When Toronto is trying to win now.. no thank you.

Pulju will not get dumped so quickly and cheap like what the Oilers did with Yakupov. When Edmonton hires Stevie Y as their new GM everything will get better.

Trade Kapanen to Edmonton for Larsson + . Kapanen's speed with McDavid skills, Kappy would be a 30+ goal scorer.

The value is not far off... but for sure if I am Edm I would ask Kappy instead of Brown as they take Zaitsev to help Toronto with there cap-hell!
thinking about it... change Brown for Johnsson... more skill player.
Kadri, Johnsson, Zaitsev, 2nd for Larsson, Pulj, Benson.

Well first the oilers can’t afford this so won’t happen. And we have enough garbage on our team we don’t need more from the leafs.

Take Benson, out of deal. Put Marleau back at LW. Gauthier as 4 C. Liljgren not ready yet. Insert Holl.

Liljegren is already more prepared for NHL action than Holl would ever be. Without Benson put 2nd round pick out from Toronto.

You can afford that. And you take on back to back 30-goal scorer, former 20-goal scorer, 2nd rounder and two-way defenceman that has all the essentials to rejuvenate in a big big way.. the Oilers themselves are garbagepile so why not just acquire players that would help you..

No the Oilers can’t. As of right now we will have 7.7 mill cap next season excluding the expected 3M rise in cap and that deal has Edmonton taking in an extra 7 mill in cap. That’s leaves us with just over 3 mill to find 4 players to fill those gaps. Sorry bud Edmonton says no to that deal.
