I don't hate it. Donato is a solid prospect. I just wish he were fast, then I'd love it since we desperately need speed down the middle.

It seems decent for both teams but I give the edge to Boston. Donato isn’t dominating the AHL at 22 and that’s a little concerning.

I don't think Coyle brings the secondary scoring or the speed pop Boston is looking for.
However, he does have term and would make a good 3C.
I don't know what the exact pieces are as they haven't been announced yet. If you say it's Donato I think it's a steal. Donato hasn't done anything and he's 22 and hasn't done anything with his time.
He should be on the ice at the NHL level producing much like ZAR for the Penguins is. So in that sense he's kind of a disappointment. He's not one of these 20 year old prospects who still gets a year to grow.

However nothing is confirmed yet that I have seen so we will have to see.

But all are "unconfirmed" as you said. It is for sure confirmed that Coyle is going to Boston, however.

Coyle is very fast, one of our faster forwards so I wouldn't say he doesn't bring speed. He hasn't been a crazy goal scorer but on his hometown team I think he could be a very good scoring 3C.

To all below, IMO this is a fair trade with a short range boost for Boston but Ryan Donato is one of Boston's best prospects. If the Wild play him in place of Coyle, I do not think they will miss much. Good trade for Wild to build on, great trade for Boston to win now. I do not see him taking Pastrnak place in the line. Any Bruin fans to add some insight?

I agree I think it's fair and I do like it for both teams. Donato has serious upside, his shot looks pretty good. I think Coyle should play 3C for you guys and is a good 2RW if needed.

I don't think Coyle is slow. Not being fast and being slow are two different things. But he doesn't really have eye popping speed. Not that I would expect him too. He's 220+lbs. It takes a lot to get it moving.

I think the problem for Coyle scoring on Boston's 3rd line is who are his line mates? They have lacked secondary scoring all year. Coyle I don't see as being the answer to that, especially with no help and not being the kind of break out speed player needed to really push a team back on it's heels and create space.

He's looked really fast at center this year. I agree that in previous years he hasn't looked super fast but this year in particular he had a ton of speed down the middle.

      it's confirmed, Donato and a 5th.
Steal of Boston on the fact that Donato didn't produce.
I never thought Donato had the kind of talent as a much younger Sprong, so I'm not really expecting a turn around with a new team that ANA got.
It's a good pick up for Boston. They still need help on the wing. It didn't cost them much so we'll see what else they have planned. I don't think they are done. Especially if Pasta is out through the playoffs.

If Pastarnak is out through the playoffs their done already unless they get Stone or Panarin.

They have to go for it. Berg is 33. He's probably their best player.

I’m just hoping this satisfies boston’s craving for secondary scoring and they stay away from any meaningful adds
