Description
Muzzin the first of many to go. I feel like these are realistic and logical destinations.

Bruins: Hagelin> Kuraly on both sides thats pretty simple. 3rd rounder is nothing and if he doesnt work out hes done after this year anyway. Have to add depth and Hags a good PK guy

Habs: get a top 3 (possible weber pair) LD with multi cup year experience. Also has 2 years after this one so not a rental. Its gonna be fleury or brook coming the other way so if u think itll be brook dont get ur panties in a wad the point is a defence prospect is coming back.

Pens: Brassard aint gonna cut it for a 3rd line C....Carter has a good contract for a player of his caliber and already has chemistry with Pearson. Yes hes having a down year but a fresh start on a contender has treated him well in the past if u know ur hockey....also kings might need to retain a small amount of salary but couldnt see more than 1,272,727

Jets: Brassard has alot of interest from jets and kings will gladly flip him for a late pick and give young guys more minutes

Wouldnt be surprised if guys like Lewis, Thompson, Phaneuf (if someone willing to take contract for very minimal return and possible retained salary) get moved but those are minor deals and will have minor returns. Plus lewis is a good vet/clubhouse guy and is more valuable/versitile for just a mid-late pick return. Kings might as well keep him around.

For those wondering about a quick trade i think it happens in offseason. If i had to guess, colorado gets him

Let me know how much u hate/love/hate this...

Martinez probably gets closer to the same value that Muzzin got if he's moved soon. Martinez isn't as physical, but is much more reliable defensively and still produces some points. Plus Martinez has an extra year on his contract than Muzzin at the same cap hit. Try for more value there, not sure Montreal is the team to do it cause they've said they don't wanna give up futures right now. But a 1st+ top prospect and a mid prospect is certainly fair value

Not sure Pittsburgh cap situation allows them the handle Carter's contract long term. They're gonna need upgrades on their defence more than their centre core so the extra space might need to be added there instead

I think the Kings can do better than that for Carter, especially if they're expected to retain a significant amount of salary for 3 more years.

Value for Martinez and Hagelin is about right.

I think we might see Campbell traded before the deadline too. I don't think Quick is getting traded unless someone massively overpays.

MTL declines on Martinez as we arent giving up our top AHL RD for a 30 year old big man aka Karl Alzner with a right shot basically .

if you're moving a youth LD we're interested , if not Toffoli or Kupari then we're gonna pass .

if Martinez was movable he woulda went to TML with Muzzin and fixed their top 4 situation but even a team as desperate for RD as TML wasnt interested it appears LAK is stuck with their Alzner

I know i saw that too BUT they said they dont wanna give up futures for a rental but martinez is far more than a rental. And i agree hes more solid on defense and hes one of the better d men when it comes to blocking pucks. And about pens cap space they do currently have room if brassard get flipped in the deal. might need to throw someone like a sheahan in for when schultz gets back but thats kinda minor. If kings retain salary they probably get alot better return as pens wouldnt need to worry about cap issues but for this i didnt have them retain

Pittsburgh doesn't have the cap space though. They may "have it" now, but the important one to look at is the Projected Cap Space (which means end of season) which is when they have be under the cap or pay overages next year. Currently they have a projected cap space of 811K, with Brassard's $3M cap hit traded and bringing in Carter's $5.2M cap hit, that puts them massively over the cap at the end of the season. So it doesn't work for them unless LA retains over $2M per season, and with Carter having 3 years left after this one, I doubt they do that

if u get anyone on this site to agree that martinez and alzner are just as good as each other id never post on this again lol....considering that everyone before u said this is fair or even less than what martinez is worth, im gonna lean towards that ill be on this tomorrow. also toronto cant fit martinez with muzzin and resign all of kappanen, marner, matthews, etc so why on earth would they do that? pairing martinez with weber is much better than pairing him with mete. come the end of martinez contract mete might be ur top pair guy

I generally agree with all of this, but:

You need to keep significative salary to trade Carter to PIT. And he needs to agree or else he said he would retire. I think he'd say yes.

Why such a low value for Brassard? He's worth at least a 2nd+ IMO

Go Habs Go with Martinezzz

they have enough depth guys like him, Nordstrom is the same exact player and they're letting their youth play, fair value just don't think they would do it
