Last year and this offseason I probably would have said no way that would happen, but I wouldn't hate getting a 1st round pick for Zucker. I can tell you this for sure: we aren't retaining any amount of salary for 4.5 years.

I think the value is a little on the low side for the previous 33 goal scorer, but it's not terrible by any means.

Clifford isn't the player you think he is anymore. He's an excellent heart and soul guy, but he doesn't play as physical of a game anymore because he's had several concussions.

He'd be a great 4th line player, and you'd love him if he was on your team, but he's not going to serve your stated purpose.

His speed will forever be underrated IMO, the problem is he has a hard time scoring on all the breakaways he gets so I think most are frustrated by that. He'd easily have 40 goals last year and probably more like 15-20 goals this year if he could score on a breakaway. I've always liked Zucker but if we could trade him in a package for a better asset I'd do it in a heartbeat.

When it comes to single player, Corsi above 50% tells that a player is outplaying his competition, while anything below indicates that opponent is performing better. Low Corsi number points out that a teammate has a bad impact on his team performance.

Fenwick numbers tells who is getting more scoring chances.

PDO is the sum of team’s shooting percentage and save percentage. Shooting percentage measures goals compared with shots on goals taken while saving percentage measures goals allowed compared with shots on goals against.

Zone Starts indicates how many faceoffs a player starts in every zone of the ice, measuring the percentage of time when a player starts in the offensive zone. A Zone Start ignores starts in the neutral zone, and begins when a player starts his shift in a zone (i.e. faceoffs). Zone Start % provides insight into how a coach views a player, does he put them on the ice when in the offensive zone more often than the defensive? If so he values that player more for their offensive than defensive skills.

Before calling people idiots, perhaps, it would have served you better to actually learn how to read the analytics and through that research, came to the conclusion that he is not a good player. I do believe his lack of foot speed is the major factor in this and at his relative young age, if he doesn't have it by now, he never will and it will only regress more as he ages.

The Zucker trade is a hard one. I don't like the idea of trading ZAR. He's one of the best penalty killers on the team and their best checking forward.
Although it would be a nice addition. You have to have some balance on a team. That's why they like ZAR so much. The physical play. Can insert a Simon or Sheahan or whatever in there but that's not the right guy to trade.

MTL easily turns down that trade. They aren't making a run at the cup so don't need Brassard this season and can go after him in the off season when he is a UFA. Also Brassard, since leaving NYR, isn't much of an upgrade on Danault, since arriving in MTL. Maatta might make up the difference in value due to contract status between them, maybe MTL adds a 3rd, but only if MTL feels sure they can resign Brassard at a good cap hit, because if they can't or simple don't want to resign Brassard then he is a cap dump to MTL. What this deal is from a MTL view is, a good 3C playing like a decent 2C this season, a decent young 3rd line winger with some upside and a good defensive game, and a young, probably 2nd pairing in a year or 2, RHD for a rental/potential cap and roster spot dump (by the team not likely to make a cup run) 3C who might be able to regain 2C form, and a 2nd pairing LHD who has had injury issues and at 24 already seems to be slowing down. Maybe a trade around Maatta and Danault could be worked out but it would be in the offseason once Poeling is either signed or commited to his final year of school before going UFA.
