I was trying to figure out who you were replying to and then I realized it probably someone I have blocked.

I'd rather get a lesser return or retain on schenn than take Backes back. I dont think the Blues are going to want bad cap, they'll be interested in competing again next yr. And if anyone thinks the Blues can do a full rebuild I'd love an explanation of how to do it - we have too many immovable contracts and talented players to make a bunch of tank moves. there will be a couple key trades and then get into the playoffs asap, at least IMO.

Everyone realizes Backes is on a horrible contract. Why do Boston fans think Armstrong would trade for him when his performance has dropped off a cliff when he wasn’t willing to sign him to begin with.

The Blues traded the boat anchor of a contract in Lehtera for Schenn and it cost two 1sts. Part of that was to move that horrible contract. Backes may not play his entire contract with Boston but he sure as hell isn’t coming back to the Blues. It’ll cost Boston quite a bit if they’re able to move him.
