Let me start by saying that I don't see any possible trades between St Louis and Toronto. The only piece St Louis has that TO would want is Parayko and his value to St Louis is way to high for them to move him for anything less than a landslide win in a trade.

That being said, you have the opinion that Nylander is a young kid who is at best a 2nd liner and closer to a middle 6 player. You are letting your emotions alter Nylander into Alexandre Daigle.

Ok let's get a few things straight here in no way shape or form is Nylander equal to Parayko. Get that out of your head right now. Parayko has better contract, more value as a RHD in value, and isn't AIDs personality who holdsout because he wants too much money. Get that out of your head. Secondly Thomas would take your offer and completely take out Parayko add in Liljegren, and a 1st. That's what Armstrong wants for A Grade Prospects. 3 If Parayko is going Liljegren, Nylander (even tho I hate him with a passion), 2019 1st, and most likely a Dermott. That is how much Armstrong is a fan of Parayko. To add on to it Dubas has tried twice to bring in Parayko and it didn't happen therefore either Dubas doesn't like what he wants, or Armstrong blew him off completely. Showing that the deal is not getting done. Also Parayko's market value and RHD in general is worth more than anything Toronto is willing to offer.

Parayko is worth Nylander. Thats it. Elite young defender versus elite young forward.. Ive heard Parayko is on the market but thats just an information I saw not confirmed anything.. Parayko would be nice fit but it wouldnt be one for one at all. Maybe adding prospects to balance depth on each position...

Did I ever say that? no I didn't Nylander is wanting overpayment. Meaning his contract is no where near the worth of a Cheaply paid RHD who right now EVERYONE is in the MARKET FOR ONE. Therefore makes him into a more valuable Market Value player. Nylander hasn't shown interest in playing for saint louis. So what makes Saint Louis indulged to making a trade with a player who won't play? That's suicide.

To be honest, Toronto has a much better chance of getting Petro than Parayko at this point. If Blues keep playing like they do, No chance in hell rhe leadership group stays the same.

Actually nylander is worth Paraynko I've posted trades with nylander and parayko and every STL fan other than you think so. Their concern is who replaces enough of his roles to do this hense adding Zaistev with the deal who is on a million less contract and is playing a shutdown role but lacks parayko size but to get him they need a prospect back hense why taking bouwmeester so it opens up a lot more cap to go after a goalie which you could use Zaitsev included in the deal to get that. But your team has called the leafs about nylander once the leafs asked all interested teams to contact them and make offers which all 31 teams did. So STL did that knowing odds are Dubas wanted Paraynko.

Either way Nylander doesn't cut it. We don't want to be pawned off with a unless player. (Useless cuz he doesn't want to sign), and he isn't worth 7-8M. Parayko is a 5.5M player who should be 6.5M. I also believe defenseman are underrated.

Robert Thomas isn't "an undeveloped 1st round pick" and he certainly isn't getting tossed into a trade to get Zaitsev. He's 19 and playing 2nd line minutes in his 15th NHL game. He's our best prospect; most people would admit that getting him at 20th overall was a steal considering the progress he's made. Not trying to be a homer - he's just worth a lot more than you assert here.

Also, what cap space are we getting when we trade Bouwmeester (5.4 x 1) for Zaitsev (4.5 x 6)? And Parayko (5.5 x 4) for Nylander (7? x 7)

Ok the difference is wanting Parayko does mean they are willing to trade Parayko? Deal is the position strength after and what we gain. Nylander not wanting to sign gives zero leverage in the trade.
