Both Toronto and Winnipeg laugh at those offers, And Ericsson will only accept a trade to one of 10 teams. And i'm pretty sure Philly isn't one of them.

If Wings really think Nylander is a 7.8m long term player (he isn't right now), the Leaf would be expecting 7.8 long term in return.

Well, a first round pick, a versatile and fast young forward, and two decent depth players for one player that isn't even under contract is not that bad, in my opinion.

I get the Ericsson part, but why would WPG and TOR laugh at the offers? A d-man who has shown pretty much no interest in continuing with the team for a decent winger and d-man + a depth player + a 2nd round pick isn't that bad. And I believe TOR would benefit from a first round pick, a versatile and fast young forward, and two decent depth players much more than a one player that isn't even under contract...

In a longer scale, the first rounder and Athanasiou could very well be around that value.

No first included and we don't need Ericsson.

I don't think Ericsson needs to worry. Flyers are going to stay away.

1) With bonus overages our cap would be reduced by $4,000,000 next year when we want to sign Laine and Connor to long term deals.
2) The last thing we need is wingers and Nyqvist is a UFA at the end of the season.
3) All three Detroit players have NTC and probably wouldn't waive to come to Winnipeg
4) Not a single useful part for the Jets. The most useful part is the 2nd round pick and our cup window is now.

If that's all the Jets could get it would easily be a better decision to keep Trouba for this season and next season and let him walk as a UFA than to give up a season of Trouba when we have cup aspirations for a handful of old guys in decline that would only suck up cap space that we desperately need.

Why? Would Dubus ever consider AA+Kronwall+Glendening+2021 1st round pick for William Nylander, AA isn't any thing special Kronwall is done and Glendening naw can't afford to give 1st round picks yet. And Nyquist and Helm and Daley for Trouba. No way Cheveldayoff accepts that for Jacob. Any team out there would beat that deal.

You have to think about these trades from the perspective of both teams, put yourself in the other teams shoes.

TOR trade: Would you give up a young top line winger for a guy who can't reach 40 points and is known for being incredibly inconsistent and bad defensively, A bottom pair defenseman about to retire, A 4th line center who is slightly overpaid, and a 1st? I know I wouldn't.

WPG trade: You've got a young top pair defenseman, would you give him up for a 40 point 2nd line winger, A 3rd pair defenseman, a bottom 6 forward who is overpaid long term, and a 2nd?

BOS trade: It's been proven time and time again that Vanek has no trade value. He went for Jokinen and Motte at the last deadline. He's bad defensively and teams don't pay up for him for that reason. To think we'll suddenly get gold for him is laughable.

PHI trade: Howard is not worth a first round pick, and Ericsson serves no purpose to them since they've got young defensemen coming up.

This isn't NHL 19 where you can just keep adding until both value bars are the same length. 4 quarters does not make a dollar in the real NHL.

A 1st round pick 3 years from now when Wings might actually be good by then. If it was this year? Maybe

Kronwall is big and slow and almost done... spun familiar it should I just described Hainsey as well.

AA incredibly fast and versatile unfortunately we have like 4 of him and cheaper and better.

Glendening is awful. Dubas will avoid him like the plague cause his numbers don't add up.

Nylander might not be under contract but he's still team controlled for at least 4 more years.

Giving a bunch of spare parts for a superstar in the making sounds like when people give us Leafs fans crap when we "over value" our players.
