Most fair batch of trades I have seen from a Habs lineup. Well done.

Only one I'm not sure about is Colorado taking Alzner, but with the retention it probably gets done.

col can use some depth as they make a deep run. he is a vet, and a servicable d -man. he is just having a terrible season in mtl, kind of like the whole team

so retooling for 1 year, adding youth, and drafting in the top 5, and having a jump-start to a succesful retool with price, weber and drouin isn't in the longterm interest for a team wanting to win?

HELL NO to that Pittsburgh trade. Danault is going nowhere with our dismal C depth, what the hell do we do with another goalie prospect anyway?

If Tavares was excited about youth talent, he would have re-signed with the Isles by now. They have some of the best young talent in the league. He wants results, not youth.

that first rd pick, could fetch us a better player then danault. we have a ton of 3rd line centers in the system. some might even making an impact as soon as next season (Lukas Vejdemo). I'd rather trade him, for a quality asset. according to a former nhl scout on twitter, if habs were offered a 1st for danault, they'd trade him right away.

yes we can see the results as of now. i think tavares could resign with the isles, but if he hits FA, i don't see why mtl wouldnt throw all the cap they got on him.

Love the ideas, If tavares were to entertain coming to mtl you would need a legit no.2 center nt just a prospect playing no.2. No.3 would be fine and you have the cap space in your idea to sign a no.2 center to fit into this plan. It would show tavares a stronger effort to win now.

If Tavares were just look for money than he'd sign with Habs for this huge salary. But he's more interested in win cups than money. So, I think Habs is out of the table.

I just see him signing with Leafs or re-signing with Islanders.

We have only one centre who is offensively good enough to chip in for a top 6 role and that's Danault. If I'm the Habs, I definitely do not trade him for a non-lottery first round pick. You think Vejdemo can step in to an impact role in the NHL next year when he's barely one in the SHL this year?

actually he broke danny alferdssons record. sucks that he's having a terrible season right now (like most of the team). the coaches really like him, and i think he can be a very consistent 20 goal scorer

Yep, he is having a serious sophomore slump. Just playing really bad hockey at the moment but I'm sure he's going to bounce back.

Vejdemo isn’t anything special, and trying to compare him to Lehkonen just because both played in the SHL is terrible.

Lehkonen was a top line forward posting 33pts in 45 games as a 19-20 year old for a solid playoff team (Frolunda). Lehkonen was also a beast in the playoffs , 11 goals and 19pts in 16games!!!!

Vejdemo plays on the 3rd line of an average team (Djurgardens) at 22years old. Has 9goals and 19 pts in 39games. He’s not an impact player. So I wouldn’t count on Vejdemo to make it to the NHL anytime soon, let alone think he can be a Center for the Habs next year or so.

even if he cant be a 3c, we still have de la rose. we still have evans (if we sign him), and how hard is it to find a 3c? I'd rather get a quality asset for danault, and find a younger 3c elsewhere. that 1st rd pick from pitts could really be something. this is a deep draft

But Danault plays 2C for us. Ideally, he's a 3C but he can play 2C on a consistent basis which makes him so valuable for us.
