5 trades to change the Rangers for the better

Créé par: Cjeths

Description
In terms of value

Hayes = Meier
Nash @ 50% retained = 1st & 3rd
Smith > Boedker

Smith is more enticing than Boedker at this point for SJS

Kreider = Galchenyuk +
Leftover Kreider Value + DeAngelo + 1st = Pacioretty

Speedy Boedker meets with speedy McDavid.

Deshairnais finds potentially bigger role in St. Louis. Desharnais looks to put up 40 points this year as a fourth liner so a third is fair.

Crowded forward core opened up by sending Colorado a good young winger for their top 6 in exchange for a dman they had a hard time negotiating with and already have a crowded defense.

Offseason Holden walks and/or buyout Staal, this opens up two spots for the likes of Sproul, Graves, Pionk, Bereglazov, Crawley, Gilmour, and Day to compete heavily for.

Could sign or let Grabner walk, but need him for the playoff run.

Money will get tight around the time of Hanks final contract year, but with the way the cap is set to grow yearly we may not even need to rely on Hanks cap hit disappearing to maintain the team/grow.

Feel free to constructively criticize. I'm well aware all of these trades will not happen, however I kinda like the way this came out.

Avs 100% turn down that deal, Zads has been the Avs top pairing force this year. Vesey doesnt even come close to the value the Avs would need here

I wouldn't do that if I'm Montreal.

Krieder just finished having a crazy illness.
Deangelo would be on his 4th team in 3 years.
SJS 1st is pretty late at the moment.

I just edited that first one. It didn't make sense lol

Not sure why STL would need or want Desharnais.
Or why San Jose would want Nash... maybe Hayes.
Or how you think a 1st Deangelo and Kreider will land you both Pacioretty and Galchenyuk.
Zadarov for Vesey is the right value but COL needs Zad way more than they need another young LW.

Smith > Boedker

Hayes doesn't equal Meier. Meier has better long term upside for us. I can't see him getting traded.
Nash isn't worth those picks to us. He's not what he used to be.
Martin can't crack the defensive line up, so why do we need another guy who wouldn't.

Hell no.

In your mind what else is needed for the trade? Kreider is a consistent 20+ goal scorer, DeAngelo is a solid OFD, but isn't in the NHL bc of Rangers deep d core, SJS first would most likely be late yes.

STL already down Fabbri the entire season so why not add a 3/4C who is scoring at a .5PPG pace

Nash has developed himself in a very solid, still top 6 worth, two-way forward. He is still 6"4 220lbs, skates very well, puts up scoring chance rates towards the top of the league (almost ahead of Kucherov), has a history with Joe Thornton (player together for Canada and during both lockouts for a team in the SHL), and would help SJS in the playoff run. Not for nothing, but Hansen and Boedker aren't exactly go to guys right now.

MTL wants picks so there's the first rounder
Chris Kreider is a consistent 20+ goal scorer and has the speed MTL lacks
DeAngelo is a 22y/o OFD who is right handed who should be in the NHL no thanks to Alain vigneault

Galchenyuk and Pacioretty have been being chased out of MTL all season. Friends of mine who are Canadien fans say all the time how poorly they're treated and how they can't wait for them to go...so yeah I'd say that's sufficient value.

I can agree on the final point

Nothing. You are picking things MTL is not interested in if they were to trade both those guys. Guys MTL would want? Andersson, Chytil, etc.

Yeah Kreider is a consistent 20+ goal scorer but he just finsihed beign diagnosed with a blood clot in his arm!. Pacioretty is a consistent 30+ goal scorer without the blood clot......... Deangelo is not playing because of that reason. Unless guys like Holden and Kampfer are really good in your mind....He's been traded too many times. Its becoming obvious he has some issues that worry some teams. He had it before being drafted. Its well documented. Galchenyuk and Pacioretty are having down years and are still on scoring pace with guys like Buchnevich and Miller are this year.

How does Hayes exactly not equal Meier? I can see it as an age difference thing, but Meier has 76 games played in the NHL and 19 points to show for it...anyone is tradeable, I can see them wanting to keep the younger guy to see if he can maybe develop into something, but why not the immediate help? SJS has this year and maybe next year as a cup window. Thornton on a year contract and is almost 40, Pavelski 33, Burns 32, Vlasic 30, Ward 37, etc

Brendan Smith could easily crack the top 6 for SJS. Smaller market + scores at a good rate for a DFD. I can see him fitting in just fine. Took back Boedkers contact to even things up.

Figured MTL would want 26 y/o Kreider with 4 years left at $4.6 over 29 y/o Pacioretty with 2 years left at $4.5 for 'going younger purposes'

Not sure where the belief Kampfer and Holden aren't good come from...Holden scored 34 points last year...hard to judge players you don't watch on a night to night basis. I can vouch for the both of them and say that they both are playing very VERY well. DeAngelo definitely has his demons to deal with so I'll for sure give you that.

Trust me comparing someone's output to any Rangers player holds no merit ??Vigneault has royally screwed every players output this year based off of his bonehead decisions alone

Pacioretty can score 30 goals on the right team, and Montreal doesn't want that return. They're getting Kreider who's had injury problems this year, and likely a later 1st, and a good prospect but for Pacioretty AND Galchenyuk. I'm a Rangers fan and i don't like the trade for the Habs.

realistically, rangers dont have prospects that would interest mtl. would they be willing to trade chytil or lias andessen? doubt it. so eaasily thye arent a trade partner. plus if mtl is gonna trade 2 elite forwards, doubt they trade to a rival. they would likely go west, unless the offer is too good to be true

I'll tell you what, if you can get one of the other notable Ranger fan posters on here to agree with your statement above, i'll change my mind on them. But until then, if you simply filter NYR AGM's on here and go back as far as the start of the season, almost every single one is labeled "get rid of holden" or "Holden sucks" etc. Once again this is coming from NYR fans not my own uneducated opinion.

I know it's amazing that people think they suck. It's moreso a bandwagon belief to say that. Not really a fan of NYR fans on this site. Most of them hate every player and want to trade everybody. Best source for your question is Adam Herman, Steve Zipay, or Larry Brooks

Desharnais is probably worth a 5th or 6th.
STL wouldn't want Desharnais.
Montreal hates Kreider.
The MTL trade wouldn't even be enough to get Galchenyuk.
The avs weakness is D, they're not trading one of their best ones for a forward.
Nash isn't worth a 1st much less both a 1st and a 3rd.
Sharks don't need Hayes, they have enough centers.
