How I would fix the Sens

Of the Sens 2024 1sts goes to SJS.

This is a 3 team trade with SJS and NJD.

But NJD do not have any of their 3 retention spots being used. Additionally you have a cup contender in NJD. Why would they even need to retain (I don’t see any need) on any of their trades. So after already dealing with Grier before, Fitz performs, smart and efficient asset management by using 1 of his 3 spots for 1 year, when the team has plenty of money to spend. SJS retain 1.25m (50%) of their contract with Barabanov. NJD then retain an additional 50%, 625k of Barabanov which then lands him in Ottawa.

Fitz makes a high value, low cost deal and contains his rein as a top GM, Ottawa replaces a depth hole with a more than qualified player and get Pinto back. SJS gains a first.

I think a late first + a pick for Barabanov at 625k for MJo (2.95 x 3y) is a pretty decent deal for Ottawa.
