Description
It's difficult to explain how all of the decisions here work because a lot of moves are based on players taking steps in development to take on different roles for the team by next year's deadline, as well as assuming everything will go as planned. The decisions were made to both solve long term issues and to project how certain players may move up/down the lineup.
-
Moves include;

Getting rid of bad long term contracts via trade
(Schwartz and Gru)

Wright replacing Wennberg by deadline while Columbus hopefully has Peeke on the block by then
(willing to give more if Columbus rejects)

Getting a starting goaltender
(yes, Carter sHart isn't the most consistent but his team hasn't helped with that so I'll take my chances)

Get Dunn a long term deal (I think he's worth 6.25m but I'm fine overshooting for now)

Evans and Wright earning their ice time
(Evans from Gustafsson and Wright from Wennberg)

And finally, get a new top line left wing to pair with Beniers and Burakovsky
(for a lot of reasons, I think Domi would be a great fit)
-
There are still question marks about this, including about what happens if some of my projections don't come true or where certain players fit.
-
Questions like;

Where does Schultz go
(probably sticks in the lineup, pushing Gustafsson to 7th D, as well as being a possible addition to the Peeke deal)

What if Wright or Evans still isn't ready (you could just send them back down to the AHL, though it would hurt to see them be unsuccessful, especially Wright as him failing to push out Wennberg would ruin the chances of a Peeke trade)

What if Peeke doesn't work well with Dunn
(you could just push him down to play with Oleksiak for a more stable partner until he gets working, meanwhile Borgen plays with Evans/Gus)

What if Peeke isn't available by the time Seattle tries to trade for him
(Other alternatives include: Ferraro, C. Foote, Xhekaj, and Carlo, though I think Peeke is a better fit than these players for one reason or another)

And what happens if sHart is still inconsistent
(it's unlikely he'll be worse than the current goalies, but if he isn't an improvement he can still be shipped out as he's an RFA. The worst part is that if he does fail, then what was sent out for him is brutal, even if most of it is to help with dumping cap)
-
By no means is this perfect, but I do think that this is a generally low risk projection (if you consider the sHart trade to be low risk lol) that leave a lot of options open if things don't work out.

We bought out wennberg. We wouldn’t be interested in bringing him back.

Ok so you definitely don't have enough for Hart. You are considering Schwartz and Grubauer cap dumps, I don't even know if you have enough value to dump them. Not to mention the NMC that they have.
Also why would Columbus want Wennberg back when they are still paying his buyout?

I think you're spot on with the Dunn contract. Good value for both sides.
The sticking point on the Hart trade is the length of the Gru contract. It's far too long and too much for SEA not to have to pay more to get rid of it. Hart is a bonafide #1 goalie, he's just on a team that has pathetic attitude and work ethic. Even Torts can't fix that, Value without Gru is pretty good for Hart, but a pretty good sweetner needs to be added if Gru is included.
Love Kase as a player, but he spends way too much time on the IR........anything more than a league min contact is an overpayment.
Domi would be a great fit.
Daccord would probably sign 3 years for $950K
Rest looks pretty good

First off, love the thought and work you've put into this.

I think most of your contract valuations are spot on, or at least very close. I think Donato and Geekie get a bit more AAV, Daccord and Kase get a bit less, and Borgen probably gets three years rather than two.

Like it or not I think the Kraken are stuck with Grubauer and Schwartz for the time being. Hopefully Grubauer can turn things around, he's had a better season this year than last so that's encouraging. If not he might just be a very expensive backup. Schwartz is still a useful player, health is the only concern. I like the idea of trading for Carter Hart, but I don't think the Flyers go for that. Something more palatable might be swapping Schwartz and Grubauer for Driedger.

I also would keep the Dunn-Larsson pairing together, that duo has been elite.
