Laffy

This obsession with Laffy seems nonsensical imo. I think everyone can acknowledge he shouldn’t have been selected over guys like Stutzle, Raymond, Sanderson, Quinn, Perfetti, Lundell, Jarvis, Guhle, and Mercer. And that’s only to name a few. I don’t c any team moving a major asset for him in season, and to be honest idk why the **** the rangers would sell for Pennies on the dollar.

Disagree with the 1st part but agree with the rest. Lafreniere was the consensus 1st pick, most of not all those forwards would just do as bad or worse in NY. Worth noting that Raymond for example isn't even doing much better than Lafreniere this year.

Raymond is in a slump, but Laffy never took off. You could say the same for Jarvis tbh. And yeah Laffy was the consensus pick, but you shouldn’t go first overall if ur not an elite skater.

WAY too much for Lafrenière who looks like he might never be more than a middle 6 guy. He could still be what we all thought he was, but that potential is not worth paying for, with where Detroit is in the rebuild. I think a team with a strong leadership core and a little less media scrutiny could be a really good change of scenery for Laffy. I think a team like Minnesota would be a fantastic fit for him.

Maybe but Lafreniere was the best all around offensive player, I don't think that he will be the best of that class but he was the most NHL ready imo.

Stutzle is probably at the top right now, then Raymond but I wouldn't call Raymond an elite skater. I remember a Detroit fan wanted to trade him because he falls a lot which is likely something he will overcome but I don't think anyone takes Raymond 1st OV on draft day, maybe whoever was considered the best C would have been taken.

It comes down to the Rangers inability to develop offensive players or maybe the pressure of the big market.
