It's definitely looking positive. We're pretty confounded on how the forward logjam is going to work out though. Marchenko should be pushing for a top 6 role rather than an AHL spot like most fans seem to think, so I can't wait for him to show off just how good he is at Traverse City and in the pre-season.

yeah i felt last year like they should have used a bunch of those forwards and tried to trade them all in for eichel, they have so much quantity right now, just need a little higher quality to really contend... i suppose they could keep talking to AZ on chychrun, but the whole team is so deep right now it would just shift the logjam to defence

It seems like the Chychrun idea went out the window when they decided to draft Jiricek and Mateychuk with their picks. The goal getting Chychrun would have been to have him around for the next 6-10 years, but those guys will be ready within that timeline now so Chychrun becomes redundant.

They may just be stuck with the whole group of guys now since it seems the majority of the league has their own players like Foudy, Bemstrom or Robinson or they just don't need them. I've been saying it for quite a while that this is such an interesting off-season for the CBJ's future and it's definitely living up to my expectations so far.

Rangers need a center much more than an aging RW.
