<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SHOWTIME_TTV</b></div><div>PHI has the whole Hart issue, Petersen isn't impressing anyone and from what I see management can save actual dollars while giving Campbell the opportunity to be an NHLer again. Worst case they buy Campbell out in the summer once Lindblom's off the books and save even more. It's 100% an ownership deal but the risk may be worth it for the Flyers. If Campbell finds his form the can buy out Petersen.</div></div>
Comcast won't care about 2.9M in savings over three years, especially if insurance is covering some of Ellis' paychecks. Doubtful Campbell would have any resale value as the backup in Philadelphia.

I think (and maybe it was just my experience), but the logic on why they were going to get a 1st wasn't really why they got a 1st. A lot of it was based on how he was on a 60 point pace and how he would be a powerplay threat for teams like Colorado, even though his 5v5 stats aren't superb or would be on COL's top powerplay. I also saw some trades were it was Turcotte + 2nd or Monahan + for Byram

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dave26</b></div><div>Hell no to Risto. He’s never regained his form from his Buffalo days. He’s signed to a long term contract that he’s not played up to. He’s negative value. Flyers fans laugh and take this. Also that Columbus pick will likely be 2025. The Jackets have the right to pick which one they send to Philly. So a 2nd in two drafts becomes less valuable. Take Risto out completely unless Philly is sending us multiple 1st to take his contract.</div></div>
Ristolainen has played well under Brad Shaw, especially this year. He is slightly overpaid but he has become a good defensemen for the Flyers, especially on defense and transition. Flyers don't really need a goaltender though with Ersson and multiple goaltending prospects.

(CGY/VAN) - Lindholm for Kuzmenko, Brzustewicz, Jurmo, 2024 1st (VAN), 2024 4th (VAN)

Seems like the Moneyball trade "And you add Joni ****ing Jurmo, because I want."</div></div>
I wouldn't expect this to really impact the market for Monahan, as they aren't really comparables other than the sense they are centers and (potential) rentals. Lindholm is a selke, top-six forward compared to Monahan who is a good middle-six pickup for a contending team. VAN is the best team in the league by record and makes more sense to pay a premium for a premium player. Monahan is a nice powerplay/faceoff guy, but I wouldn't really put these two in the same category.

While fair, I think there will be a large enough market for Walker to beat out this offer. Only real piece of value for PHI is the 3rd rounder, which I think they can probably get 2nd + prospect or a 1st rounder for Walker.

Monahan
I think this is a very bullish trade market for Monahan nor a great fit for LA. Monahan has limited 5v5 stats and will certainly not place on LA's PowerPlay. He has faceoff upside but this is an extremely steep price to pay for someone to play in the bottom six. Turcotte is a mixed bag in terms of value, but I'd imagine if LA is moving him, they will move him for someone who is a surefire top-six forward.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Seems a little rich for a guy with 30 points in almost 50 games...</div></div>
Out of any forward that has played a minimum of 250 mins at 5v5 this year (about a minimum of 27 games), here is how Tippett ranks (out of 386 players):
G/60 -- 15th
P/60 -- 46th
Shots/60 -- 1st
ixGF/60 -- 10th
iSCF/60 -- 5th
Rush Attempts/60 -- 2nd
He has showed great offensive talent for the Flyers since last year and has improved into this year. With the expected cap rise, I think this deal is in the money for both sides.

Byram
I believe the rumors were that Colorado wanted Philadelphia to add more in a Cutter/Byram swap. Monahan is decent, has very limited 5v5 stats and is heavily dependent on the PowerPlay to pick up points. COL almost exclusively runs their top-unit which Monahan surely will not place. Harris is fine but with an already crowded defense corp, doesn't really move the needle for COL. The 2nds are pretty useless to a contending team. Would imagine if COL is trading Byram, its for a dynamic forward who has term and is entering their prime, not leaving.

Philadelphia Flyers signed Ryan Poehling (2 Years / $1,900,000 AAV)
This is a good deal for both sides. Poehling has been great on the forecheck for Philadelphia, even if it doesn't translate to direct points. His underlying numbers might not be too great but compared to players with similar deployment (any forward at 5v5 who has played a minimum 250 minutes within 1 standard deviation of d/zone starts / 60), Poehling is 79th best in xGF/60 and 100th best in CF/60 (out of 212 players). His PDO is 186th out of 212 best, so he stands to have some puck luck go his way.
He fits the style of play and 1.9M x 2 for someone who can PK and play hard is worth it.

Philadelphia Flyers signed Owen Tippett (8 Years / $6,200,000 AAV)
I like it for the Flyers. Tippett has been missed in the lineup the last four games and has showed signs of being a game changer on the ice. Fairly reasonable cap hit for someone who works hard on the ice and can score goals. Fits the culture and what they are trying to build in Philadelphia. Great pickup by the Chuck Fletcher team, great sign by the Daniel Briere team.

I'm honestly not sure the Flyers would accept that offer for Foerster. Topi is a decent prospect, but I don't think the Flyers need more middle-pair RHD considering they have Drysdale/Bonk/Risto. Flyers need a sniper and Foerster is probably the second best shooter on the team (Tippett/TK). Domi as a rental doesn't do a whole lot.

Come On Mitchy Waive Ya Pigeon
Considering Marner is going to want at least the Nylander contract and TK is probably not going to sniff above 8.5M-9M (barring something crazy), I don't think the Flyers make sense to trade when they are still in a rebuilding mindset. That ANA pick is probably going to be in the top-40 next year so that is a decent future to keep for PHI.

Flyers don't really have a glaring need for Girard considering they are currently cycling 7 defensemen. What they do need is top-line center or top-line defensemen. Can't see them moving Frost + high draft picks for another 2nd pair defensemen.

I believe the rumor was Colorado turned down Cutter Gauthier for Byram straight up, even wanting Philadelphia to add in more. Can't imagine a middle-six prospect and 1st rounder are anywhere close to Colorado's valuation of Byram.

Realistic Targets
Any trade for Walker is going to have to start with a 1st or 2nd + prospect. Flyers are in the playoff hunt and Walker has been a huge part of that success. Seeler I can see going for a lower price, but I'm not sure how much his league minimum salary will play into how much more valuable he is at the deadline.
Timmins and Steeves aren't really enticing to the Flyers, would want futures or recent draft picks.

I think Philadelphia would pass on this, considering they are potentially re-signing him. I think the minimum they can get for Seeler in the market is at least a 3rd, if not more if some GM really values his shot blocking and physical play.

The 3rd and 4th round picks don't really hold any value to a rebuilding team in need of high end talent. Bourgault's fine but not really good enough as a prospect to be the centerpiece in a TK deal. 1st is nice but would surely be a late round pick in the 22-32 range. RS matters since he has more than year remaining.

Once the guy declines even the idea of meeting and talking with no strings attached, the ship has sailed. And if you dont deal him quickly, eventually someone asks him the question about his future with the org, and hes got no incentive to stay quiet. Then you lose your leverage.
Credit to Briere making the best of it, although Drysdale is a huge gamble. Just doesn't seem like a torts guy either but maybe he's exactly what JD needs right now.</div></div>
Tortorella/Briere/Jones are all in the decision room together it would seem so I doubt they'd go trading for someone to just sit on the bench. Agreed on getting something, glad they are getting a similarly young player in a position of need.
